Some of my favorite travel memories with friends center around Baton Rouge and New Orleans. We frequently dined at Messina's, a family-owned, white tablecloth, Italian cuisine restaurant near the New Orleans airport. The walls had mirrors and murals and the delicious herbed butter was served in sparkling cut glass cups with stems. Once one of us discovered that the sink and toilet seat in the ladies restroom were hand painted, we all had to go check it out. It was a beautiful, delicious, fun experience for all of us. We still like to go back whenever we can, because the food is wonderful and we have shared memories there.
I'll share more travel memories with friends as this thread grows.

Indeed we did. Once we stopped at the grocery store nearby and discovered some smoked mozzarella that was out of this world! And the crafts store just up the road was marvelous for browsing, getting ideas and picking up a few supplies to play with. Peace!

It is good to travel with friends. I had memories of my friends when we traveled and climbed a mountain and went to the beach even when it rained. The memories linger from time to time. We all have families and some are living in other countries so we can't bond anymore as we used to. I am amazed whenever I remember those memories with friends. :-)

Those memories with friends can be very comforting, edvc. Whether your day is good or especially when it's challenging, they can bring sunshine into your heart and mind.

Definitely sounds like a fun experience to me my friend, thanks for sharing. One of my fondest travel memories is going on the Eurostar for the first time, travelling from London to Bruges with my partner and two of our friends, we then caught a train onto Amsterdam, it was a 2 hour train journey, I love trains, and it was the first time I had travelled in a different country by train. We even went on a double decker train, a wonderful experience, especially going upstairs, all our trains are single deckers. I hate flying, so my friends especially set up the trip for me and I was so glad they did.

Thanks for responding, wolfie, good to see you again. Your story sounds like fun. I've got a train story for later. You're lucky to have friends who care so much about you to take care of the flying experience. I can't imagine a double decker train. How great!
