Every time I start doing something it always takes me hours to finish like cleaning the closets in the kitchen or cleaning my room, it took me 4 hrs. I'll try to use timer next time for start. ha ha, Right? do you think?

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Ha ha ha, well i can understand your problem and i do not think there is anything to get worried regarding this. There are many people around us who like to work slowly but if by working slowly u are able to give perfection to the work then you should work slowly. if u work very fast just with the motive of finishing off the work then it is pointless so focus on quality than quantity. What say?

Well, I think that the notion of choosing Quality over Quantity on what you do is quite over rated. I believe that such thinking is already obsolete especially in the kind of world we are living in right now. The world and the time demands both quality and quantity already and choosing only one won't help you cut it out. Focus should be on both quality and quantity already even in the small thing tasks like cleaning. Having a very clean room but spending so much time on doing so is quite unproductive. I believe that efficiency is more needed than quality or quantity. I define efficiency as balancing both quality and quantity at the same time. So if topic starter's efficiency is improved, I am sure that she will achieve fulfillment in cleaning out her room as she spends less time while having a quality clean room at the same time. I think that is the main issue of her creating this discussion. Just my two cents in.

wow, you both got your point there, not bad as for subhotjit10, indeed to do with perfection and avoid to start all over again or redo things that's insane AgentGulaman, balancing is a great point, if I can have both much better actually that's what I want to learn to have these both esp. with our fast pace approach now a days

You have to stop imagining things around. You won't finish your work right away if you are thinking of other things other than what you are working. All you need is focus on your work and you'll be surprised how fast you are.

Haha yes, you would need a timer if you would like to do other things aside from cleaning. I do time myself by using my phone as an alarm. I also need to make money online so I need to manage my time.

Hi friend, Even I have faced this many times.. thing is we dont plan what to be done first and what next.. Prioratize the things you wnat to do and then concentrate on what you are doing then everything will be done well in time.. If we loose ur attention and concentrate on multiple things at the same time then we leave most of the things undone or might take too long time to complete all cleaning tasks..

I think that taking you to clean that long is fine for as long as you are not doing anything that requires you to be on time or if you are going to someplace else. You might be too meticulous in cleaning, that is what must be causing you to spend a lot of time in cleaning.

You are right, i too take hours to finish chores and sometimes i think the time move too fast. I choose to take break after finishing one area like stop and watch TV or go to bed and read newspaper.

Now days i am so much into completing tasks online and hunting for new sites to pay me good money. I don't remember to eat or do any work of my house. I tell my sister to pack some food from out most of the time while she returns from her work. And also it has become a very bore thing to clean all the stuffs everyday. But something like cleaning clothes, vessels they have to be done everyday for the matter of cleanliness which i do. Today i am planning to clean my room a bit and then get back to my work and discussions here.

Try to focus more on what you are doing. Focus surely will increase your efficiency. I bet that your four hour cleaning is full of distractions from your surroundings and not plain cleaning at all. Another suggestion is to plan out your cleaning activity. This will surely reduce thinking time to where to start cleaning and where to put things and how to organize. Once you have a cleaning activity plan, the load will be quite easier and surely faster. Just my two cents in.

thanks, you're right, I usually watch t.v while doing so, I have an attitude to scatter first everything and organize which is which then do cleaning, throw all the trash then putting things back together in very spacious way
