My cumputer does and it is something like the virus my computer picked up in March or April last year. I really thought the virus was legit. Saying my computer was infected and it needed to be cleaned up. I fell for it and now I have a virus that keeps popping up saying I should clean my computer or run unprotected. Last time this happen my computer was so bad I could not use it until my older brother was able to clean it up! I will use my computer until I can't anymore or until i can figure out who to get it to my brothers! I don't have money to send it to by UPS and I won't have time to drive up to my brother's until next weekend! So I ask, does this only happen to me?

Hi blue65packer, Try to use LINUX operating system, it is much more safe when it comes to virus issue. It requires some time to learn working on LINUX. So try to make your system dual boot. It helps you when your brother is out.

Hi friend Nice solution but i think Linux is not user friendly .One who is used to Windows may not be comfortable with Linux ,i agree that Linux is an excellent OS but to operate it we need to learn some other commands and it wont be that easy like windows.

I am not going to mess with this problem. I leave it up my older brother who is a computer programer. He knows what he is doing. He has worked on my computers in the past. This is not my first time with a virus. Not by a long shot!

Hi prashu228, Thats why I gave the idea of dual boot. It helps to learn and pick really quickly.

Have you tried downloading and running MalwareBytes? It's a free program and can usually find and destroy any virus or other malware you get.

Hi dragon54u, MalwareBytes is a nice solution. But malwarebytes sometime deletes system files. And causes system failure. So make a restore point before using it.

MalwareBytes work well but not all the time some times it wont even run if the virus is strong i have faced this problem and you are right it will delete the system files in some cases.

I did not know about MalwareBytes. This is the first time I am hearing about it. I don't think I will try it. I am scared I could do damage to my computer. I will have my brother deal with it.

I do think it happens to everyone once in a while....they just sneak in on you..hopefully you'll be able to get if fixed soon. I know how irritating it can be.

I am sure viruses turn up in other people's computers. We just don't hear about it! My brother has dealt with viruses in the past on my computers and has with other family members computers. I seem to be the only one who picks up viruses on a regular bases! It makes me feel embarressed not just frustrated! So I will have him fix it,again! I hope he doesn't get sick of me doing this!

Hi friend May i know the virus name ? do you have any idea what the virus is ? .I think virus software's may not be helpful after the computer is infected cause some software's don't even run .If your root drive is effected then i think you better format it.It is the simplest solution then install the virus software then it may be helpful.

I don't know what a root drive is. I know the virus is one that looked legit. This is the second time this is happened to me! The last time my brother, who is a computer programer, took over my computer to try to fix the virus. The virus was so bad I had to drop off the computer at his place to get rid of the virus! Then one I have now keeps popping up saying my computer is infested with alot of viruses! The pop up is :System Progressive Protection Firewall Alert". I thought it was my Microscoft telling I had problem. Of course it wasn't and I am not touching this problem! I will have to get my brother to get rid of it. This is not the first time, either!

What anti-virus program are you using my friend? I suggest you should change your current anti-virus and also, install a anti-spyware program for better protection. Have a nice day and happy mylotting! :)

I have been using Microsoft anti-virus program. I was told by a friend today to try Avast or AVG as my new anti-virus program. He said both are free. Once I have this stupid virus taken care of I will look into one of those programs.

Avast and AVG are very excellent in protecting you computer against viruses and any forms of attack. You should go for either the two of it.
