When I was very young, my family caravaned with some others from my dad's workplace and travelled the American West. We camped in New Mexico and Wyoming. We toured Colorado and Utah. We rode horses and trains, waded in the Great Salk Lake, danced with Native Americans and toured the Mormon Tabernacle. It was very exciting to be so small and see my world expand before my eyes. I'm glad we did it and wish I could go back and repeat that trail as an adult.

though I am in the Philippines, the Wild West as well as the West's splendor was depicted in movies which we box office hits. Especially in our region, where bounds mountains and valleys, it is likened to the Old US West where we keep cattle and horses, where country music is played and where the wide brim hat and boots are worn.

That's pretty cool that the Phillippines people like our American West movies and fashions. And it's neat that you have your own region that has its own version of this culture.

That one must have been quite the experience. I love to go horseback riding and I have always wanted to ride in a train. There are train rides here in Michigan. I believe they are dinner train rides and I sure would love to have the opportunity to go on one. I have seen the Native Americans dance on tv, and I love the dress they wear when they do their dances. There are several Native Americans that live close by (in Traverse City) and every summer they have festivals. It sounds like so much fun. I can see why you would like to repeat the experience as an adult.

A dinner train ride sounds fabulous! I write articles about food tours in different states, so this would be a new angle for these pieces. I also write about fairs and festivals. I should add PowWows. I've only been to one near my hometown, but it was loads of fun!
