Buying bulk?

I see many customers coming in weekly to buy a small bag of pet food. It could be that I don't have the free time to go weekly to buy their food, and know it's cheapier to buy in bulk. I usually buy the 16lb bag of food (which is the biggest bag of cat food most companies make), which lasts usually about a month. Now at my store, if you buy for example 3 bags you save something, then 6 bags, and so on. The bigger the bag the more savings as well, so buying a 16lb bag you save even more than say a 3lb bag. Same with cans if you buy 12, 24 and so on. So I normally buy per month, or whichever will save me more money. I explained this to a lady tonight, and she didnt notice. I wrote it out for her, for the food she is buying and she would save over $1,000 a year on dry cat food if she bought in bulk, I told her even if she froze it. Same with cans, I buy in bulk and normally save $15 a month that way. Another lady just wanted to argue with me, so I let it be if she wants to waste even more money each week go for it.

You can't fix stupid, Ricki. some folks just don't see the point. Then others just don't have the extra money to buy in bulk at one time. I would usually buy a big bag that would last a month. We now buy 50 pounds for our dogs and that doesn't quite last. We also give them their treats. We got out if treats and Rosie really noticed. Ranger didn't care, but we could see that Rosie wanted to know where her treat was. She gets a treat to keep her from jumping on my daughter when she is putting her food down for her.

That is true. It depends on teh dog, try a different type of food, as it may not fill her up. Many of the cheapier brands of food have fillers, which it's like McDonalds it will fill you up for the time being, but then you eat more. Many food, you may pay mroe at the time, but wont use as much. I noticed this with all mine. It may cost $65.00 for a bag, but it lasts a few weeks longer. Have you tried real bone with them, or antlers? They tend to last longer. Jumping, and hyper behaviour is like a kid. She wants the attention, if she doesn't then it will just continue to get worse. Exercise, and playtime each day for a few hours, would most likely make this behaviour go away. Also, behavioural training if it doesnt stop. Just like kids repeat it, if you dont try to reverse it, they will think it's normal. If she jumps up, say NO, your not getting your food, then walk out with the food. Go back 10 minutes later, and if she does it again, leave. In a few days, it will clue in.

I don't know if Rosie would get it. They say bassets are dumb dogs. I don't think she is dumb at all. She is a scent dog and really smart at following a scent. But she is always happy and loves to go for walks. Her daddy walks her. I cannot. She pulls me like a rocket. She wants to GO! S doesn't walk her every day because he is tired from working. He tries to get her out walking at least 4 times a week. I know that's not enough but K and i can't walk her.

Honestly, when it comes to food for my pets, I don't tend to buy in bulk. However when it comes to food for our family I do love to buy in bulk because it is something that we are able to save a lot of money on. When I am doing my bulk buying, I try to do that once a month by going to Sam's Club approximately in the middle of the month. When I get home with the bulk purchases that I've made, I will open those up and repackage those into portions that are appropriate for our family size.

Maybe they are just not comfortable buying in bulk? I do understand the savings part of it, but there are still people who cannot afford to buy in bulk, in spite of the saving. They have to wait for their paycheck or something.

It's cheaper to buy in bulk so I try to do it whenever I can. It's a very nice way to save money. However I'm studying right now and away from my family and buying food only for myself so I can only buy cans and dry food in bulk. Even if a box of oranges cost cheaper than buying just a bag that's a deal I can't advantage of since I can't eat all of it.

I usually try to buy in bulk as well. I don't get to go grocery shopping that often because I never have the money too. I try to go atleast once a month though if I can. I buy big so the food last until I go shopping the following month and then here and there I will buy little things I need. I like saving money best I can too.

I know of guys who buy by retail instead of buying by the sack which can last for a month of feeding and by which they might save about 10 percent of their money. Of course there are others who buy by the sack to save time and money but you can't blame the rest whose pockets are not always full.

I don't like to buy products in bulk. Although the price can be less expensive, but it is quite a lot. It can not only store a bigger room, but also it will be out of the valid date. So in fact it will not be cheaper a lot. I still want to buy something I need.
