it's very important that we should stick to our small goals and striving to achieve them at the same time. However, that does not mean one should not think bigger. what i mean is that never underestimate small tasks or small goals for they play a significant in your personality development and keep you motivated all the time.

thanks a lot for coming jricky. let me tell you a real insight about the importance of little things and little goals. When China came into being, my grandfather had a chance to visit the country. what he saw there that some old village women were putting something inside the burning stove.this was actually a procedure of making a steel but all the work was being done by hand and only few women were involved. When my grandfather asked one of those women workers, she replied, "we are making steel". to this my grandfather replied out of surprise, "listen lady, there are big factories where the steel is made", "since you know that we are poor country and we don't have much resources or technological development that can make steel for us--therefore, we have to make it by ourselves in order to meet the country's needs", she replied. Now everybody knows that China is the biggest producer of Steel in the world. It was started way back in 1948 by those old ladies hats off to them all.

I agree with you, because small goals can guide and correct our action, and big goals can guide our direction. If we achieve small goals, then we can realize the big goals in our life. Also the achievement of small goals can encourage us to move forward.

Thank you very much echo for making your presence feel here. there there you are, if small goals prepare yourself for the bigger achievement then how these goals are small; they are in fact bigger we just don't realize.

If there is a big goal, it usually hard for me to rise my courage to achieve it. But if it can be cut into pieces, becoming small goals, things may become easier. I can reach one by one and get courage and self-confidence via each success, then after a period of hard working, I may complete successfully. Small goals keep people motivated, small achievements also make a normal person to a great man.

that's right, it is for this reason that successful people mostly rely on short term goals and little tasks because they know the importance of these goals in life. i also agree with weekly goals and also that if you write these goals on paper you may find your way more easily and in this way, you can assess your performances. thanks to dandan and reddog.

Agree. Setting small goals that are easily accomplished makes you feel that you are getting somewhere in life. Its always wonderful when you reach a big goal, but the small ones help you to keep focused and working toward something. I like to make weekly goals for myself so that when Saturday comes and the week is almost over I feel as if I completed something and used my time and energy wisely.

Both matter. It is good to have big shiny goals in our life, but we will hardly achieve them before we learn to patiently achieve smaller goals. Every single purpose we put in front of us and then finish, gives motivation to keep up and achieving more and more goals. You're right, sometimes the tiniest goal can mean a lot more to us in personal or professional life, than a bigger goal that will only measure virtual "success", but no real significance. Besides, working hard on smaller purposes is a great school of training our discipline and patience.

thank you very much for leaving your words. you have to lead to your life bits by bits while at the same time crafting bigger goals in the long run. Actually, it so happens that when you strive for bigger goals or bigger tasks without considering smaller, and you fail to achieve them, things start going away from you and you just give it up. this is the worst phase of your life when you give up. thanks to the little tasks that uphold our motivation all throughout the life. thanks.

I agree i am like that always keep small goals one after other. I do this way because i am very lazy person . After achieving small one by one they become big over all. And we dont even now how and when we achieved so big.

Thanks a lot prashu for stopping by and leaving your words. let me tell you prashu that small goals are not meant for lazy persons, they prepare you for bigger goals and bigger occasions. once you achieve them, the subconscious mind tells you that you have been a successful steward no matter how small the goal/task is. those who are unable to conquer small tasks, won't be able to convert those (small) tasks into greater ones; they are losers in the end.

Yes my friend, I totally agree with you. That's what I observe every time I accomplished a small goal in my life. Like when I want to earn a passing score for my departmental test. I studied hard for that and after knowing the result of the test I was surprised that I got 80% of it. Have a nice day and happy mylotting! :)

I AGREE! Big dreams start with small dreams. No matter how small a task is, never understimate it because good stories come from unexpected things. You never know how that little goal may impact your life. It's always best to start with small goals. Something that you can attain in a short time. The best thing to do is always to categorize your short-term and long-term goal. I'm pretty sure those short-term goals will eventually lead to bigger goals in time. As the say, If you can dream it, then you can definitely have it! Always keep a positive mind in all the things we do. :D

thanks Junerainemay for the comment. i know getting what you want is not always simple or easy. oftentimes, there is a great deal of hard work involved in achieving your goals, but all this dedication, devotion, commitment, and consistency makes it worth it when you realize that you have successfully accomplished your goals. therefore, it's also important that you set realistic goals. i agree with you that a positive mind is capable to do all these things. take care.

I agree. It is good to have achievable goals before we move on to tackle bigger tasks. Small goals amount to something, no matter how small.

I agree with you. It makes life a lot better when we set small goals for ourselves and we start to accomplish them little by little. It is good for us to reflect on our bigger goals as well. Those small ones are stepping stones to our bigger destination.

People generally say that life is not a bed of roses, but i think if you introduce these little things in your life and bring some purpose for every doings, probably you can make your life a bed of roses. it's just our approach that we misread the real secret of happiness as well as simple and beautiful life. thank you Dominique for your words.

I completely agree with what you are saying. It's often 90% attitude 10% environment when it comes to happiness. We do have to think about our approach to life and the things we are doing. When we have the right attitude and aren't trying to keep up with everyone else we are to really hear what we want out of life. We need to remember that people should be important in our life. People are to be loved not things or possessions.

It's so true. If someone only sets irrealistic goals for themselves, they are going to be slackers or they are going to feel worthless. But if you set out small goals, which can actually be achieved with a little bit of energy and time investment and will power will keep you motivated and also confident, and healthily proud of yourself, and happy. Also, it's important to have challenges for ourselves. Now I'm in a reading challenge, because I abandoned reading a bit last year.

That's right doroffee if you set some unrealistic goals you might end up nothing. When you are setting a goal (whether big or small)for your life, it must have some form of realism to it. you can't base your future on winning some huge contest, you can't hope to become a next BIG superstar, and you can't live on a hope that some day a billionaire will show himself and give you all his money out of an absolute benevolence. i know that a good many number of people have won a lottery; i know that many movie stars began their career humbly without any previous connections to the Hollywood, but these are rarities rather than the rule; you must ground yourself in reality when setting goals in your life. by no means this implies that you can't become that superstar or you can't win a lottery, or you should not move forward in the hope of becoming one such hero; all i mean is that you focus on small and realistic goals. thanks a lot doroffee for coming here.

Hi friend, i agree with you, we must focus on little things and small goals to achieve a lot in our life. Little drops make an ocean, silly things have the ability to create huge things, so we never ignore little things and start our success journey with simple goals to achieve a great thing in our life

Thank you vidhya for stopping by. apart from all those things mylotters mentioned above, you need to approach your goal with a positive frame of mind; besides, there should be some sort of system installed in your head that reminds you continually the goal you set. one of the most useful methods that one usually employ is to write down your goals on paper and let it be written until you achieve it.

Very often people set for themselves big goals. Big goals may bring a bigger satisfaction. Because of the fact the we live in a materialistic world and there are a lot of nice things to buy, people usually set big goals related to money. However, it is well known, that many of the richest people of the world started from 2 cents. In my opinion, there is such a fine delimitation between a small goal and a big goal. What makes a goal small or big?
