Webcam Viewer

Hello Friends
I am having inbuilt webcam in my laptop, but so far never used it.
It is because I am using windows 7 and it is not having any webcam viewing option(as far as I know) like windows xp.
Well, I know there are lots of software available for the viewing option. But so far I never use any, and now I am afraid which one to choose. I mean not all are safe. So please suggest me one good software for the same. If someone know that we can have our webcam view without any software then it would be great, please share here.
I know about the trick to see webcam view from directly VLC player, but its not give that much good clear view. I am saying this because I have just checked quality of it using some online app. But I don't want to go for online option.
So it would be great if someone share some good app or trick to use inbuilt webcam of my laptop.

If you want an application to do tricks with your camera, you can try "Photo Booth" which is originally a mac application. But there is also a Windows 7 version available on softonic. It is safe too!

Let me try it. Do you know any trick that we can use the cam without any app. Just like we use in windows xp from My computer.
