Is it good to sleep during the day ?

Hi there. I have a question for all of ya out there. Do you think it is good to sleep during the day, besides 8 hour of night sleep ? If so, when do you think it's the best time to do it ?

hi undertakernd, unfortunately i dont believe in sleeping much, for me i try to get 7 hours of sleep and thereafter i dont feel like sleeping. Sleeping more thn 8 hours is not advisable at all unless u r an infant or a toddler. For adults 7-8 hours is quite sufficient to rejuvenat. and yes anytime is good to sleep as long as you are able to sleep...:)

And what about those teens around there. They stay all night awake hanging out on social networks. I think they are ones who need sleeping the most.

oh so i see i am talking to a teen....however my teenager , 7-8 hours sleep in 24 hours is enough for you. :)......i wish these social sites would also arrange for these rest times...:)..... These social sites are not the only thing in the world after all. these sites are meant for you to stay connected with your friends and buddies, not for you to stay connected with the site......for this you ideally should not stay awake the whole night and look for sleeping time during day....i guess it is not worth it.....thats my view point......

I think sleep besides 8 hour per days is to risk for us. I've read a journal that explain that sleep to long can make our body affected metabolic syndrome. etabolic Syndrome is group of risk factor that concerned with obesity that can increase risk of heart attack, diabetic and stroke.

I'd like to know the answer to your question as well. If work night-shift and I have been working on graveyard shift for more than 4 years already. I'm not sure how this would affect my health someday but if there's one thing I've noticed, it sure affects my metabolism.

Hi undertakernd Hi friend it is good to sleep in the day time during summers due to less night time and lack of energy during summer , and not good to seep during day time in rest of the seasons as it may cause some imbalances in the human body.

Yes, taking a nap is good. You need to recharge your body to prepare your body to finish your job or another job to do for that day.

I think maybe, it depends on you really. But it is much better to sleep at night to have a productive day and not just a "lazy day" where you are just sleeping or lying on your bed. Live life everyday to the fullest and of course don't forget to take a sleep at night to have a healthy body and mind.

For me if you can still complete the 8 hours sleep at night then its okay but if sleeping during the day affects your sleeping habits then your health might be in risk. Besides insomnia there is also complications in health for randomly sleepless nights.

I think it's good to sleep during the day. In fact, I always have a sleep after lunch. I have this habit since I was in high school, I feel energetic after sleep. If I don't take a nap after lunch, I can't concentrate on my study or work.

For me, if you have a night work... it is still good to sleep in the morning because you really don't have other choice. But, night sleep is still the best.

i think there is nothing wrong with an afternoon nap,i think its both refreshing and rejuvenating.it allows the mind to rest as well as our body but this should be just for a small while otherwise if abused too much it may lead to weight gain and a lazy mind.

As far as i am concerned, I think it is a good habit to have a nap during the day, because we need a short break during the busy work.

Yes, much better if you take a nap even for a minute during the day. Your body may exhaust the entire day. It makes your body relax and your brain can store more oxygen to help you go until the rest of your daily activities.
