Classes start next week for me... & I still don't have all my text books!

This is a scary feeling for me. I start FIVE classes next Monday and I am still waiting on about 2-3 of my textbooks to come in the mail. I probably should have bought them in person, but I got such a great deal from used book sellers on Amazon... I am trying to tell myself that perhaps for the first week of school we won't actually NEED the text books.. Or maybe there will be a person who can 'share' them with me, although the majority of my classes are online... I am scared! Have you been in a similar position?

it would be fine, and probaly for the first week you wont need need it much. And you can always use the internet as substitute for reading while you are waiting for the book. You mit want to check out scridb.com, when i do not have my books, i search it there, and some summary or review notes of the books and the authors i find there, even study guides.

Maybe you can try to paste a post in the campus and leave your connection methods on it, someone who have these books may sell the books to you, usually second-hand books can be much cheaper and have many notes on it.Or you can try your college bbs for help. Usually many students will change their course at the beginning week, then will sell the books, but if the professor requires you to prepare for the class, you should have the books as soon as possible.

this happened to my son in his first year of college. Then he discovered renting books online. You rent the book and it's emailed to you. you get to use it for the semester then you no longer have access to it. That took the cost of his books from $600 to $50

I have been in similar situation a lot of time . I was lucky to always find someone that will share their book and sometimes I can compensate with the net and even find some parts of the book online until I get mine .

I've done that before, back in university. It usually didn't end up good for me. There were just those classes that I didn't get the books in time for the start of the class. Most of the time it was my fault why I don't have them yet. I would also have the same reasons -that we wouldn't actually need it yet, or that somebody would 'share' with me. Usually it would be the first scheduled exam that I suffer most. I hope it's not the same for you.

Don't worry, the text book will finally arrive in your hands. You can have books to attend the book. When I was in school, our school would give us the books before the class begun. So we didn't need to worry about that.

Yes, its going to be ok. Your books will arrive and you shall be fine. Take the best notes you can and use the internet for help until the books arrive. Trust me, the help you need is out there. Relax....you got this!
