I am planning to go to Dubai.i have a cousin there who is willing to sponsor me to go there..It was actually a long time offer but because I don't have any experience yet as a nurse here in our country so I decided not to go there and decided to stay here and had to work as a nurse in our country..Now that I already have two years of hospital experience I decided to grab the offer of going to dubai. I am newly married and I am just worried if it is okay if I can still use my maiden nam when going to Dubai..please help...I need some advice on what to do..

If it is okay with your husband and you will need a lot of things to do to change status then use your maiden name. Have you had all your documents in red ribbon? You must bring all your documents in red ribbon. And brin a lot of photo IDs with you too. Will you be going there as a tourist? Or do you have employer already? If you are just going there as worker i suggest you consult the POEA regarding your marital status? But if not just take your chances in your maiden name. I have tried working in dubai though in some fate it did not push through. But now i am working in Thailand.

Mavic's right. It's important to determine your options first before getting to Dubai. I heard from my friends that competition is tougher there now because there are a lot of nationalities who have chosen Dubai as their potential greener pasture. Even I wanted to go there years ago to look for work while under a tourist visa. My friends succeeded. I was choosing between Dubai and Singapore but I got a job offer in Malaysia.

Thanks. I stayed there for 2 years and my employer was kind enough to extend my contract for two more years but on a work from home basis. I was able to go home by then and work with just the laptop they provided. I resigned last November.

I think you must have working experience first and when you go abroad you are ready to work. Check your accomodation on where you are going to stay. be careful as well and pray everyday. God Bless
