Gun Control Never Has and Never Will Work

Okay, I know that this horse has been beaten so many time he doesn't resemble anything but a blob of flesh but it is still a concern in our society today. Gun control, what is it and what is it designed to do? Basically it is the controlling of the 2nd ammendment rights of citizens of this country to keep and bear arms and what it's supposed to do is deter violent gun crime. So far it is a total failure and people touting more gun control laws need to rethink what they want done. Guns are and never were the problem and they never will be. They are simply the tools being used to carry out these cimes, by criminals, not law abiding gun owners. Every time this country has a horrific and sensless trajedy like happened in Newtown recently there is outrage and a call for more drastic and a greater scope of gun control legislation. Still the truth remains that all of the gun control, even the complete and successful disarming of every citizen in the US would not have prevented these sensless acts. They just would have been done with another weapon, period. I wonder what would have been the outcry if this mentally deranged kid had not had his mom's guns to steal in order to commit this crime and instead had chosen 15 or 20 pint jars of gasoline with bed sheet fuses stuck through the lids? Do you think there would be an outcry for the ban or at least a background check before the purchase of gasoline? I dare say with that much gasoline this kid could have blocked every exit in the school and killed scores more children than he did with his guns. I have included the following link to a blog from a LIBERAL gun owner/advocate and he makes some real credible points on both sides of the issue. There are truths and falshoods on both sides but the point I believe he makes is there needs to be something done but we are approaching it from the absolute wrong direction.
