Looking for a permanent remedy to his outer ear infections

My husband has combination skin type, and most of the time, his face and ear area are so oily and dirt builds up around his pores. This leads to black heads and pimples. Recently, I pricked a black head at the outer area of his ear, and after a couple days it got swollen. We poured alcohol to it, after cleansing, and also applied Betadine disinfectant. He already took an antibiotic earlier tonight, and hoped it would help.
He gets this once in awhile, and he doesn't want to go to a dermatologist to get proper medication, because oftentimes, he gets short term remedy thru those disinfectants and over the counter antibiotics.
I'm a little concerned because this might lead to something more serious.
Do you guys know another home remedy for this, which gives a stronger and better result?

Ouch... Yes, consult the dermatologist. The doctor can give you effective ways on how to get rid of th ese things. But i am using a very good product from Watson,,, i just discovered it this week, i have big pimple and i dont usually get pimpless... Maybe because i am aging this is part of aging process. Injust applied it and my pimple just dried up. It eas. Just yesterday now it is nothing. Try Bactifree ointment in may help.

It may help since from the name, it sounds like its antibacterial. However, this is not just a pimple, it's infected swollen pores or glands. When he touches it, it's painful, and when it's badly touched or moved, there's a pus-like fluid that comes out of it. It smells bad, too.

The best is to consult a doctor. Yes, if it has fluid then it must be already infected. See a doc right away. ... It willb e a good remedy. By the way, bactifree is not really an acne ointment it is for eczema and other skin infection. I just tried to apply it anyway. ..but there could be no best advise but to see the help of the doctor
