Up date on Jack Cat

For those that doen't know Jack Cat was a stray. Hubby found him at the barn and insisted he was so friendly he needed to become a house cat. He was very thin and now exceeds 15 pounds, if allowed he would eat all the time. However if he does he throws it up so he is on restricted diet. He also has very few manners and tends to reach and grab with his claws or bite if he is not getting enough attention. Needless to say we have water bottles in every room to descourage this behavior. He is getting better, and has even been allowed back outside, it's been cold and wet here so he doesn't stay long, which is safer for him. I have hopes he will be a wonderful cat for Hubby, he will sleep next to him as long as Hubby sits or lays down. Jist thought you'd like an up date

I'm so glad to hear that Jack is doing better as far as his weight goes and that he is getting better with his behavior. I know that was something that was really bothering you because of the fact that you were afraid that he would scratch at the wrong person because he wasn't getting attention. With that said, I do think that he will end up being the perfect housecat given enough time and of course enough sprays with the water.

I am a total computer clutz. I don't know how to post a picture. I don't think we have taken Jack's picture yet but will contact my daughter and see if she can guide me.

Hi savypat, Thanks for the update. Cats are wonderful pets and companions. I have two little balls of fur and they are here curled up next to me right now. Most of the time they like to be together, often sleeping with their paws around each other. They even clean one another. Once in a while they get upset and start to fight, and I have to warn them that they are acting like humans lol! It sounds like Jack will be a good pet and they will always respond to kindness. Blessings.

It's good to hear that he is settling in! Every animal deserves food and shelter and I'm glad Jack has a nice place to live and humans to love him.

I was wondering how he was doing. I remember you saying he was a bit assertive when he wanted his attention. Sounds like he is learning from the water bottle idea. He might be getting used to his new lifestyle too.

Glad to hear the update. Nice to know that people like yourself are willing to look after stray cats. That is a cute name: Jack Cat. Sounds like he is looking for attention, perhaps due to the fact that he didn't receive any as a stray. Looks like he has made himself at home. Here is a website with tips on how to help a cat lose weight: http://www.catster.com/kittens/How-to-Help-a-Fat-Cat-Lose-Weight-143 I am sure you are doing what your cat's vet has recommended but perhaps these tips might be helpful for someone else. Enjoy your wonderful cat.

Thanks for the update, I think maybe it was just teething problems at the start and hopefully Jack is settling down and is behaving himself and him and Hubby will form a wonderful loving bond and Jack will be his friend for life now.
