Hey guys, last year i had been to Switzerland and Paris with my parents for 6-7 days and we had taken the help of a travel agency so that they can guide us through the entire trip. There were a team of 35 who were also traveling with us and since they had also consulted the same travel agency so we all were traveling together as a team and the travel agency gave a guide to us who would us stay with us till the end of the trip.
Although we had a great time at the trip but we were a little disappointed the way we were made to run and see different sights in a hurry. He never allowed us to go for shopping nor did he allowed us to stay at a particular tourist location for more than an hour as he wanted us to cover as much as places as possible.
Since it was a new country for all of us so we did not complain anyone but that got us in a discussion. The discussion whether taking the help of a travel agency or exploring a new country on its own is profitable. Next time i would be going to Singapore and we wont take help of any travel agency rather we would be moving and exploring on our own.
What are your thoughts on this? Do u prefer taking help of a travel agency when moving to new place or u prefer moving out on your own so that u can stay wherever u want without anyone's interference? Please do share your thoughts!

It is lovely that you went to Switzerland and France's capital city with your parents last year. It seemed the group rushed around seeing lots of different places. Exploring on your own it a lot more flexible and enjoyable. You can stay at the accommodation of your own choice. You can see only the places you wish to. You can spend less money because you won't be employing a guide. I am very much an independent traveler. I like to book my trip and then be my own guide around a region. I use a good quality travel guide book to help me. I can do what I wish on a trip without any interference. I have to remember my flight or other transport back home that is all.

Thanks a ton for your response. I was waiting for your reply as your discussions are always based on traveling. Yes we had an awesome time at these two places. Since this was our first abroad trip, we wanted to explore as much as possible but unfortunately we had to rush at all places and spent very less time. All in all, we wished if we had not taken the help of that travel agency but whatever happened is a thing of a past and next time we will travel of our own.

As for me,I never take helps of any travel agency and plan my travel by myself,though it is a little tired and even it is more expensive sometimes,I still keep this way because I will have more fun through it,and the most important thing is freedom,you can do whatever you want.
But there is one thing you should know is when you decide to travel by yourself you need to have a exact plan.

Thanks a ton for your valuable response. Well yes u are absolutely plan even i feel the same that when u travel alone u have a lot f freedom due to which u can stay at a place for as long as much time u want there would be no one to tell u what time to stay and when to leave. But as u have mentioned that when we r traveling alone things needs to be planned thoroughly so that we do not mess up our trip.

Hi Subhojit,
If you are travelling alone than better to go alone without any guide. This will make you thrill and enjoyable. You will go through different type of situations and this will make you confident next time.
If you are travelling with parents and family member than better to hire guide. It's not important but for ease i would suggest you to hire guide. He knows every thing about that environment so it would be easy for you to travel.

Thanks a ton for your valuable response. Yes both ways we are benefited, even if we are not hiring a guide then we can enjoy our trip without any interruptions. besides if we are traveling with our family or friends and if we have planned it beforehand then also we do not require to have a guide with us. But if u get a guide through travel agency then it will reduce the cost of traveling.
