A route that was cheap

I traveled around the world when I was 20 to 21 years old. I had a ticket that let me have two stops in America, one stop in the South Pacific, have 2 free flights in Australia and one stop in Asia. LA fitted in with the flights going from the USA to Australia. I was lovely that I could stop off in Hawaii and Fiji. I loved the weather in Sydney when I arrived. It was hot and sunny every day. When it became winter I went up to Queensland for some more sunshine. I stopped in Singapore and it was easy like Australia. So after a while there I rushed off for adventure in Indonesia. I came back to Singapore via traveling in Malaysia. I paid just one thousand pounds for my airline ticket around the world. I stayed in low cost accommodation. I shopped at local supermarkets. I hope to do another around the world trip in ten years time. I will wish to visit new places that I haven't been to before. I would like to visit places like Madagascar and Mauritius. I will wish to visit places in Asia like South Korea and Taiwan. I am sure in the next few years I will be able to visit places like Egypt, Thailand and the Philippines. Routes around the world now are a lot more pricey due to airport taxes. Do you think back to the past when travel prices were cheap? Which cheap route would you like to take in the world?

The cheaper route to travel to Amsterdam is of course by plane, the tickets are real cheap and of course the journey is super quick, yet for me that doesn't do it, it's not about getting their quick, it's the fact that the journey is so much better going by train, and yet the train is more expensive than the plane!

Hi Wolfie. I know that the plane ride to Amsterdam would be the cheapest option. I know that wheelchair of my son would be a nightmare to get on a plane. It is such a shame Euro Star going London to Brussels is so pricey. Then there in the onward train to Amsterdam.

Oh wow! You made me wish I was born in the year were everything is still affordable or rather grew up in that year. You are very lucky to exerience such travels. If I could have another chance to travel that would be Santorini,Greece and my homeland Philippines. But for the moment, I'll just keep on dreaming

I hope your dreams will come true. The Philippines is on my travel wish list for the future. I wish to do some island hopping, spend time on palm fringed beaches and do some snorkeling around coral reefs. One day I wish you will be able to visit Santorini in Greece.

Wo,, you really rocks! I wish I could travel like the way you did it. It's so expensive today to arrange a travel even to the closest places. I have plan to go for backpacker with some of my friends but my boyfriend did not allow me. I wish I could even only for few days..
