Pure friendship between men and women?

This seemingly simple question is actually very complex, and I thought for a long time. If two people is simply want to make friends, the two men do not always become good friends. Only like each other or each other's desire to have a feeling of closeness, two people will be further development. No one would have to say he wanted to say, they missed each other. I think there can be pure friendship among a man and a woman. As a heterosexual guy, I have friends who are girls that are heterosexual and we share the same interests for various things like sci-fi/fantasy and comic books. And I do not have intimate feelings for any of them and they don't have those feelings with me. I think the only reason people may think a relationship between a man and woman without some sort of intimacy happening is because of the media. We are programmed to believe in such things because of how it's present in our daily lives. I do not particularly like how the media has flooded the market at least in the US about finding your true love through reality TV programs. It perpetuates the closed-minded idea of the only type of relationship a heterosexual man and woman can have is one that leads to intimacy.

real pure friendship can really happen between two opposite sexes. maybe they are destined to be soul mates rather than lovers.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well in my view, friendship has no boundaries and gender. It can happen between any two people irrespective of caste creed and gender. many are of the view that a boy and a girl can never be friends and we all have to come out of this thought and there are many classic examples where opposite sexes are good friends.
What say?

What you said may be true, but when it comes to the relationship between married men and women, it can't be this simple. it becomes complex if you are a friend of a man or a woman when you have a husband or a wife.
