I am really looking forward to the family's coming holiday trip to Phuket, Thailand during the Spring Festival or Chinese New Year. After much reading on our holiday destination's guidebooks and the Thailand national tourist organization's website. I thought I'd just deviate and read something about our flight to Phuket and I stumbled across what we might be having on our flight there. As the family is traveling on normal economy, all of us will be enjoy meals and inflight entertainment on board. After going through the inflight magazine, I kinda know what to the inflight entertainment will be airing during our flight. Since the flight is relatively short about 4 hours, I think the most I could watch is probably 2 featured movies. But what made me ponder was which movie shall I watch, I am in 2 minds as to whether to catch new releases which has not been screened or something that has been released at our cinemas. My concern about watching the new releases will be a spoiler and kill joy because the feel would never be the same as watching it on the cinema's big screen, not forgetting the Sensurround effects over the tiny LED screen and headsets on board. So till now, I am still in 2 minds about it. How would you pick? Between a new release and the already released; between a film that's gotten great reviews but dwells on serious issues and a movie that will contribute in no whatsoever way to your intelligence but is something that you can easily veg-out to? What is your choice here? Or what would your other choice for your inflight entertainment like playing digital games or card games with your travel companions? Or, you may want to take out your tablet or laptop out? Or are you one of those people who sleeps through the entire flight to help you forget that little leg room your seat has?

I have trouble sleeping in the plane, but flying overseas from the U.S. causes serious jet lag. The last time I flew to England I took a pill that put me to sleep and on the way back I was sick so had no trouble sleeping the trip back.

The longest flight I had taken was 2 years ago to Sydney which was about 12 hours excluding a 2 hours transit in Singapore. The flight was quite pleasant and I remember after take off from Singapore while the aircraft was in the air, both my husband and I were ushered into the business class which I later understand was a gesture of goodwill for my birthday. The service was really impeccable and the meals were nothing like in the economy. I have to say that it was one of the most enjoyable flights I have ever experienced.

I bet! I was on crutches during one flight and when I stumbled in first class I had to sit until I sorted out my crutches (and feet) and I gotta say, the stewardess seemed concerned that I would stay, and I have to admit the seat was very comfortable.

I would not want to sleep. I would want to watch an extraordinary movie - the type that will keep me in suspense. If I should choose to watch a comedy, I would not really enjoy it, for I would not be able to laugh-out-loud!

Since the flight we are taking isn't a red-eye, I would not find myself sleeping on the flight for this trip. I am actually deciding between Scorpion King 3 and Bourne Legacy which are on the list for my flight. There are other releases as well, like Mr. Bean and Just for Laughs in the selection as well and it seems like the airline have just about everything for every customer on board. About your laughter, I don't think it would matter much since everyone on board will be using headphones and preoccupied with their choice.

Good for you that you will only have a short travel. Imagine, my last travel this December is 19 hours! I hate it; the only good thing is that we're on business class so at least we can stretch out and have a pretty good sleeping position. For inflight entertainment, most of the movies are the ones that I have already seen. So just in case they don't interest me, I uploaded movies into my ipad and ipod. But since I slept most of the time while on the plane, I wasn't able to use either.

As my flight is in the morning, I doubt I would be sleepy to hit the sack so I would most likely watch the movies available on the inflight entertainment center. I would not take out my iPad so as to save the battery to use after landing. After all, I believe the flight's available entertainment is sufficient for my family and me to be occupied.
