Scanning purchases for points. It is getting old.

I have been doing it for awhile now. Scanning our purchases with this home scanner and the info gets uploaded once a week. You get points you can redeem for things. At one time, I was really good at making sure I got everything, even though you only get one amount regardless of how much you scan in a week. A lot of things happened in our lives as of late, and so for a couple of months, I did not scan at all. Trying to get back into it, but I find myself just scanning the minimum weekly. I often forget to add gas and online purchases. Scanning every item is a little annoying on large shopping trips. Though there are many stores you do not have to enter in each individual price. I am thinking of just cashing out and ending it. I am not sure why they even send home scanners. In the sign up, they ask about a lot of things, and they know I have a smart phone. My new phone, and the last one, came with a barcode scanner app pre-installed. Seems like it would save some if they would use that instead of shipping these things, with return labels, and losing a few. Have you or are you taking part in something like this?

I've never gotten a scanner to earn, but I do shop and earn for some sites.

That sounds interesting. Do you have to shop online, or is it certain products at stores?

My sister did that in the usa for along time. She used to get so many free things. But lately its been really slow. I think like you she ready to give it up. Take care there.

I did get a multi-use can opener sent to me when I fist started, but nothing after that. I think if I had random free things sent more often I would be more inclined to stay too.

well, we do things to be able t save some money. if scanning will save me some money, then i will also do it. as long as i do something that makes sense in my current situation, i will continue doing it. if it does not make sense to me, then i will stop it. if i earn a lot, i think saving some money will not make sense to me.

So far, it has not saved me any money, though it has not cost me anything either but a little time here and there. I am hoping one of the prizes will make it worth it in the long run.

I did sign up for that. But when they sent the scanner I wasn't home and missed the FedEx guy. Somebody else was here and saw the guy. He told him I wasn't home. Instead of taking the package for me or the FedEx guy asking him to take it, he just left with it. I never rescheduled the delivery so I guess they sent it back. I didn't mind. It sounded like a good idea at the time but afterwards I thought it might turn out to be a pain. So I'm kind of glad I didn't.

It is a bit of an annoyance. Especially when you do have a decent amount of points and don't want to just give them up, but cannot really cash out because you don't actually have enough for anything you would want. It would be a little more interesting if you had access to what you scanned. Like a running inventory of the last time you purchased such things.

I've looked at the website and thought about signing up but it seems as though it would be annoying to scan everthing. I try to only go to the store when absolutely nessasary. Usually do the groceries every two weeks and ita large order. So the thought of scan a couple hunrded dollars worth of grocery didn't sound too fun. I was wondering how it worked. Love to have a little extra money here and there and don't mind working for it but wasn't sure if the pay off was worth the trouble.

I do the same thing. At first, it took a very long time to scan and put everything away. Especially when you have to enter in the quanity, price and if it was on sale or not. Now, the stores I shop at seem to be in the database with pricing, except for produce, bakery and meats. Still have to enter the quanity and if it was discounted, and if so how. It still takes a little longer but you can get it down pretty fast. Scanning everything is the problem. Gas purchases. Online orders. Mail. You often forget to enter these things, and since you get the same amount regardless if you scan one time or hundreds, it makes it easy to not care to do so. I have not seen anything worth cashing out for, at this time. So, not too sure if it has been worth it.
