I Am Not Rich!

I am sitting in McDonald's eating breakfast while I am getting some work done. I am the only one this guy walks up to begging for money. I find that so very annoying! I have been homeless! To walk to someone just because they have a laptop and you think that person is filthy rich is wrong on your part! Too many people get checks, have their own place and still beg everyday! You have people conning people because they are too lazy to work for their money! If I had someone offer me a job, I would take it in a heartbeat! I understand that in some countries, there are not a lot of jobs. As far as those who are in need of food, there are ways to help them. For those who do have their own places that love conning everyone who has a kind heart, they need to be exposed and people need to stop giving them money. I would not help anyone who comes up asking me for money and does not accept no for an answer! The best way to help those who need help is not to constantly give money because that teaches them NOTHING! They need to stop being lazy, stop begging and do something to support themselves, and their kids, if they have any. One day, a few years ago, their was a female begging with her daughter, the cops showed up looking for her. She had already taken off! Having been homeless 3 times, I have seen and been through things that have made me stronger as a person. What will happen when people stop being so nice because they are tired of being assaulted for helping, women being attacked by homeless men that they wanted to help, being robbed by those who beg aggressively? I have seen and heard things, even before I was homeless that would make anyone think twice! I fo help those who really do need it, though it is very hard to tell those who really need help over those who beg for money for drugs and alcohol! Not everyone who begs really needs it. If you have to beg indoors, then do not approach anyone with laptops first because that is someone not thinking right! In fact, for those who do beg, keep it outdoors because you do that in any place, you will be thrown out and never let back in!

Hmm I could say you are rich since you are able to eat at McDonalds. Something I can't afford me anymore, besides of the fact I find it very expensive the food is bad too (I can cook way better plus for the price of 1 happy meal I can cook a starter, main menu and dessert for 4 people). I am not saying I never gave or will give to a begger anymore but I do make a big difference by now. No money and not to people who drink or smoke or pretend they are homeless. Which nobody needs to be in my city and if so the city-goverment is even giving them a few hundreds of euro's a month. Money I don't have to spend on me each month.

I spent a little over $2 on dollar items. That means that I am not rich! I do not have thousands. Nor do I have money to give away!

Do you know that $2 is much money here in Indonesia? It's nearly 200,000 rupiah. That is so much money, even for me. And people who can afford eating in McDonald's here are people with much money only. So yeah...I think I can understand why he came to you. However, I also have laptop, and three cellphones, but it doesn't mean I'm that rich. So I think, he was just hungry. Maybe he has come around and got nothing. And maybe your "homeless" is different with his "homeless". With the comparison that you still have laptop when you were homeless, and he's got nothing while he is homeless.

Perhaps it wasn't to do with your laptop at all, it could have been you looked the most friendly. Perhaps he wasn't poor and in need of food, perhaps he was. All I am saying is you are assuming he came to you first because of your laptop and that could have not been the case at all. You could have just looked friendly to him, perhaps he's asked all the other in the restaurant before.

He probably wasn't thinking you were filthy rich, but well off enough to give him a couple dollars. Maybe he really does need help. If he has no other options, he has to do what he has to do. If you've been homeless before, you should know how difficult it is to get a job as a homeless person. And it's gotten worse. Most places will not hire you if you have no permanent residence. And how is someone supposed to get a place to live, if they can't work and get some money?
