My cousin's traveling around Europe with his foreigner husband...good for her

Earlier, she posted on her facebook account that she'll soon be visiting Italy, London, and other places in Europe. I was so jealous of her having the chance to travel that much. It's our (my husband and I) dream to travel in Europe, someday, and we're not going to let that dream fade, even if it means, we'll have to wait till retirement. When I chatted with my cousin, she explained that her husband (American guy, and my cousin is Filipina) has work (military) in those places, and doesn't want to leave her alone at home, so he's taking her with him. What a sweet guy!

It is also my dream to travel not just Europe but the world... i did some travelling when i did not have children but not that i have to... i have to limit that activity... but for sure when they grow a little older... and budget permits... we will be travelling as a family to places that we only see in books and watch on the TV...

That is certainly a very good plan. My husband and I would also want to bring our kids on our travels. However, we would also want to have some "just-the-two-of-us" journeys. Those opportunities rekindle the romance and love for each other.

I think it's normal to take your wife with you if you work, esp. for militairs. I hope she will see more as just the house where she has to stay. And if it comes to you (you and your husband) keep that dream alive and work towards it, before you know you are visiting Europe as well.

It is lovely that your cousin will be visiting England, Italy and other places. I can understand why you felt jealous of her doing all of that traveling. So your cousin is from the Philippines and her husband is American. He is such a sweet and lovely man to be taking his wife to those places. Yes, in your retirement it will be lovely for you to visit some countries.

It's quite common for Filipinas who marries foreigners to get to travel to different places. Lucky them! Oh well, I'm happy with my husband, and we'll work together on getting those plane tickets to Europe, someday.

Oh that's sweet. I also have been hoping for that day when I get enough savings of my own and I will bring my mother out of the country for a long due vacation. I have brought her with us to a few places out of town but I want to bring her farther, somewhere a flight or long boat trip away.

Your cousin os so lucky to have a husband like him. I have also dreamed of visiting Europe coz I have just always been to Asian countries.....now, when could that be? I think I need to start playing the lottery. Who knows, I might just hit the jackpot! I'd take you with me!

I rarely buy lotto tickets. Coz I'd also rather buy something that is immediately needed that hope that my 10 pesos would hit the jackpot! But sometimes, we dream big. We dream of providing the best for our family. And so, when that strikes my mind, I buy a ticket or two. Well, who knows, right?

I have never played the lotto. My mother used to bet her chance to getting an instant millions, and asked us for numbers. But, I never tried buying a ticket on my own. I join raffle draws, though, especially those in the malls because the cashiers would hand us the stubs. I don't really enjoy filling out all those papers with my name, address, and phone number over again in those very small space, but oh well, who knows, our names may just get picked.

I'll count on it, jenny. Start buying lotto tickets now. I would never win any lotto or jackpot, because we never buy any. I'd rather save up the money I'd be spending for the lotto tickets, and soon buy a plane ticket.

Your cousin is indeed so lucky! Imagine , getting to different places, with the husband and her always being together. Others can go around the globe but they seldom can bring with them their spouses. So, seeing new and foreign places isn't that so enjoyable because it's not shared with your special someone.

That sounds really nice. I would like to travel to Europe too some day. Although there are other places I would like to return to or visit first. If I can travel I would like to go to Hong Kong, Korea, Japan, France and the United Kingdom. Maybe if I could win the lottery or find a bag of money on the ground.

Then you'll have to dig hard, my friend. A lot of people, if not all, really dream to travel to faraway places. But, I would really encourage friends and family to explore our own country and province, first. It's a waste to not see the beauty of our own land.

I know of a friend too whose husband is in the military. The guy is from the US too. They already have 2 kids I think. The last time I heard and saw her Facebook was back in 2009 when her husband had to stay in Amsterdam for work purposes.

You will enjoy it better in your retirement as by then your other responsibilities would have been taken care of and you will have enough funds to splash. You can then go for the best undies on earth without lace ofcourse!

I think so, too. When you're retired and the kids are all grown up, then you splurge your money on your lifelong dreams -- that is just superb!

well, she s very lucky because her husband could afford to bring her along with him to visit those fantastic and beautiful places. and because her husband is a foreigner so i would not be surprise because he get use to travel and he have a good finances. a lot of people also dream of traveling in wonderful places and marrying a foreign husband would be her passport as most Filipinos desire to marry somebody who work or live outside her country for a great opportunity to travel.

That is a sad purpose for marrying someone. But, true, it is quite common for Filipinas, especially those whose family are not doing so well, to get hooked with a foreigner who is financially able. I hope that's not the case for my cousin, though.

Yeah. He's just a sweet guy. I wish I could also travel around the world not just in Europe, but I want to travel alone. I do not know why or maybe I could bring a friend if she is also interested in travelling
