Gender Selective Abortion.

I have heard over the radio that there are still some countries who do gender selective abortion. Some women are forced to abort or choose to abort their babies once they've known that they are carrying a baby girl in their womb. It's sad that some countries still think that baby girls will be burden in the family ,or worst, are useless in the society. I want to hear your opinions on this.

I do not like it, but there is nothing we can do about it. Its their culture and beliefs in their own society, but if we think about it, well, that is what I called sexists. Why they have to abort a baby girl? It is because she's a girl? Gosh... that is not good.

oh my! i was sad when i read this on internet also, maybe because i have daughter also. i pray to God not to do this wrong belief always. the babies are angels they have the right to born, love and support by their family.

That really puzzles me. How can there be other babies born if they would kill baby girls? I mean, if they try to kill all baby girls from this generation, how can there even me a next generation? Can a boy just make himself pregnant?

that is really sad, poor baby girls. why do these countries hate and try to kill baby girls, if they do this all the time, then time will came that they will no longer multiply because how can life go on if there are no women or girls in the society? they are the ones who gives birth..i think they should consider reversing this kind of policy and culture, this is really crazy!

It's horrible. Firstly: forced to abort? It's an offence to the freedom of choice! I mean, I'm a pro-choice, but if someone doesn't want to abort the kid, she shouldn't be forced to do that. Secondly: I still don't understand why females are seen as a disease or a piece of trash in other countries... females can be as good as males in different areas... and with that being said, if it wasn't for females, the oh so precious males aren't bornb, either!

I wish this comes to halt. It should never ever be practiced. Your killing your own blood. Just remember the fact that your mother carried you for 10 months

Talk about invading the privacy of a countries citizens! I can't imagine girls being useless in society! It's too bad they can't fight it with some sort of human rights dept. in their country.

I live in England and people are generally equally happy with both genders. It is common for ladies to have a gender scan to help them bond with their baby and help with buying the baby's clothes. I know in India and in China the people wish to have a baby boy. I hate the idea of anyone doing a gender selective abortion. My youngest child is a little girl and she is so wonderful. I know that the culture shows men and better than ladies. In India they want the boy since the girl will marry and that can be expensive. They are expected to have dowry you see. In China they have the one child policy do to their over population. Girls are useful in the society I live in. In the future many men won't be able to find a wife if they have 30 percent females and 70 percent males.

I think its terrible that in some countries girls are looked at so badly. How horrible is that? I think without women this would be a pretty messed up world!

These practices must be stopped somehow. I wish we could create an awareness among people and let them know that the baby inside feels the same pain as we do..
