Respect begets respect. So yeah, I hate those people who asks for respect but doesn't know how to respect. I think that respect is not something we should ask. It's something that we should earn. As for leadership I believe a true leader must not be arrogant. He must be humble and he must also know how to serve. As true leadership is service.

Exactly. Some people use power in order for others to respect them. They try to evoke fear. But if that is the case the person only begets fear. It's very different from respect.

As a leader you must always try to be best in everything , since you are the model of the group. Not only should you be knowledgeable in your job, but you should have the good traits of a good leader, that is, strict in a understandable manner, but kind and considerate. He should also be a good listener of suggestions and evaluate them if it will be good for the employees as well as the company. Well if your leader is so arrogant, perhaps the group should unanimously report him to upper management.

but if he/she already has the highest position in that place. so we cannot do anything just to accept him/her

If she/he has the highest position, i might as well resign. I don't want to be forever stressed being with an arrogant and inconsiderate boss.

I am strong believer that respect has to be earnt, you cannot expect people to respect you for no reason. Respect is either won or lost. If you respect others, then you hope that others will in turn respect you, but sadly it doesn't always work that way. Sometimes our respect for a person is tested, due to their performance, behavior and attitude.

that can be happen to, especially if u get people under you that really don't care about other people. how much we respect them they still don't care about it

I agree, people ask for respect but they're the one who never knows the word respect. How can we respect people who are not respectable anyway. I don't consider respecting people who doesn't respect their own self too. In order to gain respect, one should know how to show and respect others and live a respectable way of life.

yes. sometime we just respect them when they are in front of our, but when they not there we just dont care about it. that's why we need to respect other first before we want people to respect us

Based on the fact that I want other people to respect me, I always try to have respect for other people. This is something that my parents instilled in me from the time that I was a very young girl. They always said that we should do unto others as we would have them do to us. That said, even in situations where I see that I am not properly respected by other people, I still try to respect people as I would desire for them to respect me.

Yes, I agree so much with this. If you want people to respect you then you gotta respect them too, most importantly have a self-respect.

Sometimes we should learn to respect other people no matter what's the impression is.To respect is the basic to communicate with people.I don't mean to be fake, just learn to be a nice person and thus we get more back, and also feel happy.Isn't it?Cuz hate doesn't change anything.

For someone to become a leader, they should realize that they weren't chosen if people don't trust them and for that they should pay back with respect. You should remind this leader how to be human again.

People are respected by what they do. They lose respect once they try to conceal themselves. Coming to leaders, they must possess the qualities to lead people in the right ways, give proper ideas and solutions by discussing with other people. I think those leaders earns my respect other than the ones who just looks for way to gain the top seat and earn respect from others.

just because you are leader that does not mean you don't respest me, i respect you but if you don't respect me back, go to the hell

I fully support your views that unless one respects others, one cannot expect others to respect one and even one does not deserve it. But in this context, I must add that for expecting respects from others, one must be honest, dutifull and sympathetic and helpful to others.
