Stress is one of culprits of stomach pains. When this kind of stomach ache attacks you, you won't be able to stand up right. You will hold your stomach as you are not able to stand the pain. When I was a kid, I used to have this kind of stomach. What my mom did was to send for an old woman who knew how to relieve the pain.
Other stomach pains are probably due to certain foods which your stomach cannot digest well or because you probably eat faster. Food poisoning is another cause of stomach upset.
Which stomach pain did you ever have?

Stomach pains have different origins. It also have its respective way of treating them.
When i am so stressed, i usually would have an LBM. At its initial attack, i don't treat it. I just let it go. But if it persist having gone to the CR, i would already treat it with a loperamide.
However, taking up loperamide would again have its other effect : constipation.

When I was in highschool,I used to have LBM or I used to feel the need to go to the bathroom during algebra class! Math has always been my waterloo. I used to carry loperamide in my pocket every day. I drink it few minutes before my algebra class especially if we had to do boardwork.

I never had that kind of stomach pain during my high school. I had a couple of stomach cramps when I was in junior high school. Till now I still don't know what caused the stomach cramp

Ahhh, you've explained one of the problems that I have been having lately! If I bend a certain direction I get horrible pain in the stomach area. It seems to happen when I am under a lot of stress. Thank you Doctor Yanzalong!
I am in a position that I have to eliminate stress totally because of the myocardial bridge and because of the stress from that it creates more stress.... I also can't have any amount of salt because of the effect it has on my blood pressure which affects my heart... What happens with the bridge, if I consume too much salt or have too much stress the muscle that my artery grew through constricts and cuts off the blood flow.
For other readers I will explain that when I was growing in my mother's womb my Mom smoked through the whole pregnancy. That was before they knew the effects of second hand smoke...or would it be first hand smoke??? Anyhow, smoking causes birth defects that people don't know about. In my case the artery that carries the oxygenated blood from my lungs to my heart grew through the muscle rather than in front of the muscle. Normally it manifests itself when the person is a baby. It happens one in one hundred thousand babies. In my case it didn't manifest itself until I reached 59 years old. This happens once in one hundred MILLION people!!! I have two choices right now, one is to have open heart surgery and the second is to try to control it with medication. I opted for the second choice. I originally thought that the medication would take care of the problem, but I was so totally wrong, I have to make dietary changes and also life style changes. Each day brings a new problem to control. If you're pregnant or planning to become pregnant and smoke, you need to quit! You can seriously damage your baby with your smoking!!!!
Sorry if I changed your discussion to something different, but it does kind of interrelate to stress and muscle cramps.

That should be fine, Loverbear. I am happy you can add a little thing different but sort of related to one another. What you have written here is of course a lot of help to others who don't know how bad the effect of second hand smoke is.

Hiya yanza,
Mainly through people that are nasty and always complaining. This happens with two people in particular but now I am learning to protect myself without medication when I can.
Comes from childhood when lots of shouting was going on need I say more I think that this is more frequent and lots do not realize why they get it just nervous reaction from the past.
xxx.

Stressful life can be one of the causes I guess. I still remember having a stomach muscle cramp on my way back from school. I couldn't stand up right because of the pain. Was it due to my not liking my algebra class?

How often do you have it, 911Ricki? Since I grew up, I have never had such a stomach ache. I hope I won't have any in the future.

I have some embarassing experiences with this although it never reached on a humiliating situation
. When I was a mall with my husband, I know I needed a toilet but it should be my toilet. I have to let them out and it's gonna be very noisy
. I hate when this happens so I'm avoiding foods that might cause me stomach pains if we are leaving the house.

Yes, certain foods are not good for stomach. I was told that eating raw chilly is not good for my stomach but in fact I eat a lot of chilly with my foods. I don't feel any bad reactions.
