I have this cousin who use to live overseas and have just moved here. When she was coming my other cousin and my Auntie where going on and on about her coming here, how she and I was going to have fun together for old time sake. But it has been two months since she has been here and I have been with her only once. If I do not texted or call her, she won't contact me. Whenever I talk to her she is always making promises and silly excuses. I have now, decided that it is best if she live her life and I live mine without her. I feel like her friends comes before her family, she does not even call my grandma whom she had not seen for more than 10 years and my grandma is pissed at her. Can you categories somebody like that as your family? To me no... Sorry

I have few relatives who are like that. They prefer to hang out with their old friends than with their family. I don't mind them at all- it's their choice so be it.

Hello Babyeve, People change in course due for this time. even for brothers and sisters, relationship changes, they want to be more free and independent. maybe there's something she doesn't want the family to know or doesn't want to see them much to the point that she feels free with her life.but so sad for her she doesn't know what she's missing.

I think her being overseas made a difference between her choosing to be with other friends than be with you. When I have a cousin like that I just leave them be. You contacting her first may come off as you trying too hard to try to spend time with her. Nothing wrong with it but like you said it's best you live your life without her.
