I went crazy trying to find a decent book to read after I finished the Fifty Shades Trilogy. For awhile I watched The Vampire Diaries on tv but soon lost interest in it. Looking through all the books that are out now I decided on The Vampire Diaries thinking that I know the characters so would enjoy the book. I just can't get into it for some reason and was surprised at the amount of pages it has since I'm used to reading books of at least 400 pages...it only has a little over 200 pages! I need to find a book that will keep my interest and that I can't wait to get into. Has anyone read one of these books since I noticed there are several out? Do you think they are close to the tv series as far as story is concerned?

I haven't read any of the books in the series. I didn't come across the series when I was a teenager (the target age for the books), and they really don't hold any appeal now. While some YA books are good for all ages, I don't think that this particular series is one that holds much appeal for adults. I do, however, like the television show.

The show reaches a wide range of ages. The books, however, are very definitely targeted at teens.
As I said, I enjoy the television show. However, I think that the book series is more for the younger set.
