Obama's speech on gun control was too much of a lecture

No matter where you stand on the gun control issue, Obama's speech will persuade few to what he wants. So much of it was given as a talk down to people lecture which would not win anyone over. If that is how he does most things, it is no wonder that he can't bring about a compromise on so many issues.
