Being an all rounder student in school and college activities.

I was always good in academic studies but I felt that I lacked a little in other activities, like dancing and sports. I was interested in doing all this but I never pushed myself to do that. What about you? Do you have the experience of being good in academics and also good in sports? Does it help to be an all rounder?

I'm not an all rounder at all, there were plenty of areas I lack of back in school. But I remember this guy in my high school who was a track star. I knew him because we had advanced placement Calculus class together. And he also took the advanced placement English class. Such a well rounded guy plus quite good looking, blond hair, blue eyes, with a very nice smile...

Hellon Asliah, I think it is not possible to be a good all rounder but still everyone progress at every moment of life in some way. I started this topic just as a random, discussion, and I got the same responses from everyone, and they told they non of them is all rounder, but I think that up to some percentage we all are all rounder.

It is really difficult to become a good all rounder in in our school as well to the collage days. We people are blessed with certain abilities and with caliber and we people must understand and make efforts to make it as our good and we could really shine with it. Good Luck

I think some all rounder people will also admit it that it is really hard to be all rounder, so it is not easy to become an all rounder.

If a student is so active in College, then it is well and good. Some students cannot manage to do it all. The academic part and the extra curricular activities. During my time, I joined so many student's organization and compete with different academic competition. In my part, I had explored all the possibilities to improve myself that time.

I'm not overly great at sports. I do well in badminton and tennis. I never tried to try out for any teams or anything, because I figured there were always a bunch of others way better than me. I almost tried out for dance once, but I chickened out.

Hey, Most people are not an all rounder. We have two kind of people - one who excel in a particular field & others who are all rounders. Both these types have their own pros & cons. What I feel is if you are in one of these categories then you have a very good chance to succeed. By the way, I always had this question in my mind: Focus in one field or be an all rounder?

Thanks, that is another way of thinking. There are some people who are very good in specific field and make their living in that particular field. I would appreciate some live examples from you.

I was not an all rounder when I was at school. I liked the academic subjects like English, History, Geography, Religious Studies and French. I hated Science and Maths. I found Art and Design relaxing. I was the worst student the Physical Education staff had met. I didn't try at all with the sports on offer at my secondary school. I believe it is hard to be good at every subject when at school. I managed to go back to learning Maths so I could gain a grade C or better. I needed that to be able to study at university. I did an A Level in English Literature to add to my qualifications as well. The university let my do my degree and teacher training. Funnily enough I go to my local sports center often. I go there to dance, swim and have a spa. I do this for energy, health, weight loss and relaxation.

That is surprising that sports was not your choice, because I see that you look beautiful and fit in your profile picture. You were inclined toward the religion, literature and history, so you are a wide traveled person now.

I wouldn't really know, because I wasn't an all rounder student either. I concentrate on my studies and I make sure that I pass all subjects. The sports that I have, if you can call it that, is mountain climbing with friends and we only do it during breaks. And it's not really on a sporty level, it's mainly for recreation. Just a means to have a break from it all.

Thanks for sharing, I think mount climbing is an adventurous sports. It is the type of sport which has the danger and risk of life sometimes. I also like the adventurous sports and I love the people who participate in it.
