All Paul had to do was notice that there were two sets of tracks in the snow on the roof to know that someone was there when Jamie "fell" off. It looked like he followed the tracks to where Jamie fell and saw him below. It should have been obvious that another person was there from the tracks.

Maybe he was more concerned making sure Jamie was fine and getting help for him than worrying about there were 2 sets of tracks in the snow.

Yeah, they have to leave everything open so they can have everyone in town be suspect! The yearly first quarter murder story to be solved come June!
