I saw this informercial and I felt disturbed by what saw: This product promises parents that their babies will be calmer at night , it is suppose to make the sleep faster, they wont do thumb sucking and scratch their face. am not yet a parent yet and I don't have much experience with babies but for some reason I think its wrong. It looks like a straight jacket, Straight Jacket are for crazy people and not for babies. No wonder they disabled commenting on their youtube videos. I don't know if someone will defend this thing but I really believe its wrong. wrapping a baby like its a burrito. -World_Invading_Whisker

I heard of a parenting style which is swadling or maybe a part of it is swadling. Basically, you left the child or baby alone when it is crying or in discomfort. It's supposed to train the babies not to depend on their parents too much from an early age.

I don’t know if there is a study which involves swaddling and future behavior of children. But I if I am fully-fledged mother and I'm caring for my child, it ill take a lot of guts just to not care and give it to the poor kid. Hormones and probably just plain concern. It's an old-fashioned way of treating babies and expecting them to condition a behavior. People and parents of lo0ng ago weren't exactly the most understanding of children and their rearing.

is swaddling a parenting style you would recommend? I am a bit cynical with this system. I mean babies needs to move and swaddling seemed to prohibit them.,

I guess I will just stick with Mittens,my nephews and nieces just used Mittens as babies and they never had problems, aside from thumb sucking.

swaddling (wrapping the baby up with a blanket) is normal and recommended too cos otherwise it might be too cold for the baby. but i dont think using this snugglewings product is good. reflexes are there to protect the baby. eventually the reflex will go away on its own. you should'nt be forcing the baby to cross their arms like that. they havent learnt how to speak yet and so wouldnt be able to tell you if they're comfortable or not but you can imagine it for yourselves. wanting to stretch or move your hands and but not being able to do so. you are right in calling it a strait jacket. sure moving their hands around may cause the baby to wake up but i dont think forcing their hands together like that is a good idea. i havent been taking care of any babies yet though so this is just my opinion.

It looks like a punishment to me and babies don't deserved to be punished.

Hello CaptAlbert. i would never purchase something like that. I worked in the nursery at the hospital and we wrapped the babies very snug. After all they come into the world with all kinds of room to move around after being in a very tight place for nine months. If they are just wrapped with the receiving blanket they get used to having their arms free faster. They out grow things so fast that They would be out of this snugglewing almost before it came in the mail. Any way I wouldn't wast my money on it. my babies would fight it in the second place.

thats what I feel about it too, babies may feel uncomfortable and try will struggle as they were squeezed on a tight space. there are other ways to keep babies warm and comfortable.

I have never seen something like that and if it is like a straight jacket then I would never buy that for a baby. These are just stupid ideas from silly people with nothing better to do than think of crazy contraptions to make money. Can you imagine telling anyone that you even use one of those, I would be ashamed of it.

the commercial portray babies looking happy while using that thing but I dont really think wrapping babies like a burrito will make them happy.Just imagine some parents purchased it.
