Waking up to visit the bathroom!

I drink a lot of water and I visit the bathroom regularly. But I don't like to wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom! Sometimes I miss my college room with the bathroom inside the room! I was making 2 steps and I was literally at the bathroom door! One of my friends said that she has to pee every day at the same time. I don't have a habit like that and I hate it when I wake up and I have to get up from bed and go to the bathroom! Does this happen to you regularly at night? For me, it happens occasionally and I avoid drinking water before going to bed!

I am an one who just used to drink little water before I go to bed but this do not create any problem to my sleep. I just used to go to toilet in the morning to meet my basic needs but there was some occasion I need to wake up to meet them but they are only at some occasions.

If I wake up to go to the bathroom, it means that I have reached my limit and can't hold it any longer! :P Sometimes when I haven't had a proper dinner and had a lot of water instead, I might get up more than once! But usually I visit the bathroom just before going to bed and then I sleep without any interruptions!

I go through stages, sometimes for a week straight I will wake at about 3am and have to use the bathroom. It doesn't really bother me as long as I can go back to sleep after. If I have a hard time falling back to sleep I am usually pretty grumpy the next day. Now if I sleep through the night and my bladder hurts because I have to pee in the morning, that bothers me!

I don't have a problem to sleep afterwards, the cold outside my bed is what I want to avoid more! Once I get back to bed I am happy and cozy again! I agree, it is annoying to wake up in the morning and realise that you need to visit the bathroom immediately because you were holding it all night!

I think the last time this has happened to me was way back in high school. Nowadays, if I take a leak just before going to bed, I wouldn't have the urge anymore to go to the toilet in the middle of the night. I guess it's really a matter of getting your mind and body used to it. I know it could be a bit inconvenient to force yourself to urinate at a specific time, but eventually your body might get used to it. Besides, it's more inconvenient to wake up in the middle of your sleep and go to the toilet.

It's very inconvenient indeed! Going to the bathroom is part of my sleeping preparation! Normally I can go through the night but there are days when I wake up from the discomfort of a full bladder and I have to get up and pee! I know that it's not good to hold myself and I can't sleep otherwise! It's good that you don't have to go through that any more!

It happens to me occasionally. I don't want not to drink water because I get so thirsty. And when I do drink a lot, yep, I would wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. So I guess the key for me is to make sure I just drink enough on nights that I need a complete and undisturbed sleep. And if I have all the time to sleep, then I guess more water for me.

Oh, I can't sleep if my bladder is full! I always visit the bathroom before going to bed but then I might wake up to go again shortly after falling asleep! This is the most annoying of all, waking up just when I started enjoying my night sleep!

Doctors say that drinking a lot of water is healthy and good! When I have an empty stomach, I might visit the bathroom every hour! Not during the night though, when I am asleep I only wake up if I can't hold it any more.

I rarely have to get up at night to use the bathroom, and I take water pills. I am an old woman with a very tight bladder. Try not to drink anything after 6:00 pm. You should be able to sleep through the night and be all nice and dry the following morning.

Hi! I've never heard of water pills before, what do they do? Water is good for out body but it's annoying to have to go to the bathroom all the time. It is said that when we feel thirsty, out body has already started being dehydrated! I don't know if it is 100% true but I started drinking a lot of water after reading this!

Well that's the price you have to pay for drinking a lot of water. You could cut down on your water intake but you would just end up with bad skin, smelling urine or worse burning urine. So if I were you I would stick with drinking large amounts of water, waking up at night is just a small price to pay for my health.

I like water and I drink a lot every day. As you said, it is very good for the health, the skin and our diet of course! I am happy that I like water because I have friends that don't like it at all. I am visiting the bathroom multiple times every day and it doesn't really bother me, it's annoying only when it happens at night and interrupts my sleep!

If you take the time to drink enough at day time but also to visit the bathroom you will discover that you do not need to go to the bathroom at night or frequently at night. In many cases people are too busy at daytime to go to the bathroom. So as soon as your body is resting you need to go. If you drink before you go to bed plus visit the bathroom it must be possible to sleep whole night through.

I know that it is not good to hold it in and delay the bathroom visits so I always go when I feel that I have to! Sometimes I visit the bathroom before going to important events or in occasions where I know that I won't have the chance for a few hours. For example in movies or exams, when I travel by bus or before an important meeting! I like your suggestion on your first sentence, I hadn't noticed that and I believe that it can be true! Thanks for your response!

My advice is don't drink a lot before going to sleep. I drink a glass before sleeping for its health benefit but it doesn't get me up at the middle of the night. You might want to limit your water intake to one prior to sleeping. Oh, and pee before you go to bed.

Peeing is that last thing I do before going to bed! lol But I do drink a lot of water during the day and at night. If I avoid water I might also wake up feeling thirsty, which is probably better because I always have a bottle next to my bed and I won't have to get up!
