India had a good start for the year 2013 Now India is the best in the ODI. I feel this is achieved through their goods efforts. As we can see that indian players are doing good in the 50-50 formats as compared to other format. Whom do you think is the most consistent player in the Odi ? How do you find the new year 2013 for Indian team? Please share all you views Now india has to keep going with the achievement till the end.

2013 is a definitely a challenging year for India. You have a tour to South africa coming up and also few ODI tournaments. You need to find the best combination in bowlign and batting in all formats.Decisions have to be made for Zaheer and Sehwag and Gambhir. If they are team, they need to contribute well.Few more youngsters like Jadeja should be available.2 all rounders should help the team well.India at the top of ODIC ICC ranking table is temporary as we do not have much ODI matches till april whereas others do have.Personally unlike last time when we achieved it, this time its just been luck on our side.We need to do so many things to save cricket after a worse 2011-2012.Surely Tendulkar would be gone in an year's time and then we have another concern coming up.And the preparations for the world cup and the team for same needs to be started. The best combination should be taken up and bench resources also ensured to be good enough so that no hiccups would be there. a pile of 18-20 people should do the thing.Hopefully team will do better in coming days. Thanks!

Things are going to be tough indeed. We do have some promising youngsters. Players like Rohit Sharma would have to brace up for giving more consistent performances. Ajinkya Rahane, Murali Vijay etc would get more chances to open the innings, and they have to grab those chances. Hopefully, we would have Praveen Kumar back in the side, and also see some pace bowler slots being consolidated.

Indian team will have to show consistency in their performance as there is only one point difference between India and England right now. And also if they want to remain at the top of the ODI table then consistency is the key. They have to get back to their winning habbits. Anyways Indian team is performing well in ODIs but you can't say the same thing about the tests as there are regular flop shows from them not only in abroad but in India also. I don't understand that why there is so much difference between the test and ODI performance. The players like MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh suddenly starts performing at ODI series when they are total fail at tests. May be our players enjoys ODIs more as compared to tests. I hope they will perform well in the home series against Australia.

Wow.what they say about indian cricket fans must be true then. short term memory loss. dhoni scores consistently against pakistan after his captaincy and batting came into criticism.just one series and he is the most consistent indian batsmen? memory loss indeed. forgot that after world cup, india did not do that well.lost series against england, thrown out of the tri-series in australia, again thrown out from asia cup,won the usual matches against srilanka and england, lost to pakistan.clearly deserves the number one spot. dont you think? dont let me start on the T20s and test matches. one thing is clear though. if nothing else saves team india,ICC does.

The upcoming matches going to be a really a big challenge challenge. As you well awared australlia is a big team with good bowling as well batting attacks and they make use of the chance to put india to the bottom of the table. It is the time for india to put efforts on the pratices so that they can do well in the game.

Days before England was at the top but after defating them in the two matches with good nut run rate India is at the top. India has a rating of 119 and England with a small difference of 118. I hope India will win the series in a good way and keep the ranking like the same.

While The England series ODI win is a good start for Indian cricket team, a lot more needs to be done and tracked for. Especially consistent performance, fitness, and good team morale. And this is a tough task.

Hi the wonderboy, It is very difficult to say that everything is okay now in this new year or in one day internationals. Nothing much has changed expect that england played badly. Ghambir even though he did stay for some time was not confident and got out on stupid shot. Kohli was just lucky, he edged so many balls. Opener still getting bold. I really wish to see them apply more.

wow, that is really a great news. After a long time India tops the table. I don't understand how team India managed this even after some bad performances in some of the recent games. I think India is playing more matches than other teams which helps them to gain points. And about the consistent player in the present Indian cricket team, I would say it is Yuvraj Singh and Dhoni. Since Yuvraj is returned after his sickness he is been in a terrific form. If he can't perform well with the bat there will be contribution from him in the bowling department and Dhoni as usual is playing a captain's innings and leading from the front.

I am agree with wonderboy.. Ups and down can happen with any team on any time in cricket. So its not like they will keep going down and down. And same goes for up too. Losing two series is not means that they are going to repeat the same thing in future.

India has a great loose with the pak team and indian team is trying to forget the past and now they are just trying not to repeat the same again. It doesn't matter we loose matches but we must keep the confidence and keep our hopes true.

Ranchi ODI brought so many good data to Indian Cricket. One among is a bit unexpected number 1 ranking in ODIs. S Africa lost to New Zealand in their 1st ODI in big margin as a surprising result to give India top ranking position. India has to defeat England in the next ODI to retain it.

India is indeed doing well in the 50 over format. They are serious about defending their world cup title in 2015. Dhoni may announce his retirement or atleast he will step down from test captaincy.

Dhoni is performing good in his 50-50 formats but as we see other formats he is not so good. Anyway he should try to be good at all the matches. I hope good pratices make everything possible. Good luck for the indian captain as well as to the team mates.

Yes you are right he is doing well in 50 overs format but we can see the worst part is test format. T20 is average.

Hi wonderboy First of all Congratulations to TEAM INDIA on achieving No:1 rank in ODI format. Well it is actually a bad start to the year 2013 with losses but recovered well to reach the top ,To achieve no:1 they worked hard but now the real challenge begins that is maintain the Number 1 spot .I hope India will try their best to stay on Top through out the year . Most consistent player is Kholi.

It is really a tough challenge to the Indian team to be at the top. Point wise, the difference between the first, second and third positions are small and things can change in any way. Anyway lets wish for the best.

As every Indian,I also feel very happy about this news.I hope this will lift the spirit of the team and inspire them to overcome the bad phase they were going through and have a successful year ahead. In my opinion Dhoni,Yuvraj and Kohli are consistant players of the team.

I find little bit of consistency in batting line up but I don't see such a consistent in bowling. It was only the last game I find consistent in each of the bowlers. May be their efforts had made them to do so. Anyway lets wish for the same.

It is good to see India on top of the ODI table. I think we have a good limited overs team, but they are notoriously poor starters. That cost them the series against Pakistan, but now they seem to be coming back into their own. The key though is not getting to the top, but how long do they stay on top. Cheers! Ram

I had always maintained that India is team under transition as its top players retired in 2012.. from Dravid to laxman to Tendulkar and when you loose so many quality players in couple of years then it takes some time to build it again. Now the team is showing signs of good results in terms of players performing ..so future looks good

I sincerly feel that India is on path of being world beater again. The last two games against England are pointer to it. ALso the bowling showed its worth in last ODi against pakistan too when we bowled them out for less than 160 runs. So if bowling is working then batting would work automatically as the batting wont be under pressure to make enough runs for bad bowling too.
