I was wrong about wanting gloves being a sign of old age but discovered new sign

Ok, I thought wanting to wear gloves in the snow was a sign of old age but went out again to cut wood today and did not feel the desire to have gloves. The difference was this time I had eaten last time I was fasting. So, I am thinking that is the cause. [Thank you Veganbliss for pointing this out] However, a van had run off the road and got stuck in the snow, I went down to where they were and packed on the road to see if they would pay to get towed out. They only had £20 but pulled them out anyway ) As I got out my truck I slipped on the snow and went down on by back, instead of landing nimbly I twisted my back, still a little sore now. This must surely be a sign of aging What signs do you notice? Do you no longer bounce when you fall? Do you have days when everything hurts, like you have been beaten with a pick-axe handle? all the best, urban

There's a saying that goes "There's no such thing as Bad Weather, there's just poor choices of Clothing"! Gloves would definitely come under that heading.. In most weather conditions,You won't need gloves, but when it comes to snow and ice and freezing conditions,it's not a sign of old age-just sensible..I've been skiing and snowboarding, and I wouldn't like to be taking part in those activities with bare hands!

Everything deteriorate nobody is an exemption, the best way is just to be careful of our health don't abuse it. Any part of the body once it is affected or dislocated we can never replace it with a good one ( transplant) the fact remain it being a different to original with less longevity. The worst if the diffective part remain inside our body hardened and covered by new develop tissues, the changes can be felt outside and it hurts at a moment if formation of our body allow.

No aches or pains at all. I think that I am holding on more when going down a flight of stairs and my energy level has decreased but when I feel better I am going to work on this. You are not old - just growing up a little.

I always make a point to run upstairs, sometimes taking two steps at a time but it does get harder Reminds me of that poem, The bees last journey to a rose. Do you know it? all the best urban

"I thought wanting to wear gloves in the snow was a sign of old age" Guess what? Anybody can get frostbite -- young and old. There is no age bias. As far as signs of old age, we all slow down and find things we did as youngsters a little harder. It's a fact of life. But if we let it defeat us and just give up, than we do feel old. One of my favorite quotes is: Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well-preserved body, but to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting, "Holy s**t! What a ride!"

LOL I was just about to ask a similar question myself :) My son was talking about facetime and I had to ask him what it was because I didn't know. We were also talking about the fact that there was no Internet when I was younger and I was telling him that Starburst used to be called Opal fruits and other such useless pieces of information that he seemed to find interesting. This made me feel really old, like when I don't know who a band is or I couldn't tell you who is at number one or my son has to explain technological principles to me, or I notice the people that used to be famous when I was growing up are starting to look a bit worse for wear, and are no longer the bright young things they once were, and I look in the mirror and realize that I'm not either. Wow that rant sounded a bit depressing didn't it :/ I didn't mean it to be, and actually I don't really mind getting older. I just noticed that things like that make me feel old. :)

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well yes u are absolutely right such incidents in our life makes us realize about different aspects of our thought process. i am sure it was a learning experience for us then. Wearing gloves can never become a sign of old age and people who think like this have to understand the fact that during winters these thoughts take a backseat. What say?
