Hello Lotters, In case most of you noticed, it was just a formal sworn in as the Leader of a Country, though the most powerful western country in the world, don't know what the big deal it is. unlesss it's the state of the Union that has something to do with the Dispute in the South China Seas, it's all just talk and exaggeration within the Media circle. In fact, i didn't even watch it. we got better things to do here, in fact were having our own election months from now. well, the committment of US to our country is something we should all watch for. some people said it gives them hope seeing him took office for the second term but that remains to be seen. I am sorry that's just my point of view, had it with Media KSP here and there

Well, maybe that's because you are not a fan of Obama, Letran. But my father & mother are fans of Obama. A week before the said inauguration, they kept asking me when will the inaugural date of Obama, to which i was clueless. But i told them, they just have to keep watching the news because it will be announced there, as to when. I know, they have watched and enjoyed it, because they like Obama. But as for me, all i can say, is they look so simple but regal when Obama walked hand in hand with her first lady , in her red simple gown. I saw it in yahoo news, the picture!

Oh, it means something. It means we've just had millions of dollars spent on ceremony and celebrating the re-election of a man whose goal is to financially ruin this country. The people re-elected a person who thinks that paying unemployment benefits stimulates the economy, who hates Israel, who sympathizes with radical Muslims who want to kill our children. It celebrated a person who thinks that government should provide everything for the people--except for the elected elite who get better services. We celebrated the ruin of our country, the end of our constitutional rights, the degradation of our pride and the corruption of our courts. In short, you're wrong--it meant everything, not nothing, because it signaled to the world that the majority of voters here are so stupid that they voted for someone who is destroying the country and they are happy about it.

To some it's just another day in the history of the US, but to others it's more of a triumph. Obama supporters rejoice because their bet won yet another term of office and to them that's really something to celebrate on. I didn't really view it as something to rejoice about since I'm not someone who follow the US politics closely. I see it as a continuation of Obama's list of promises to his countrymen. He now has more time to fulfill his promises.

He is the one to run our country so for us Filipinos who are not living in the states nothing at all. We have different sovereignty so why we are concern about them. Besides, as you said we will be having our own election by May so better to focus on our business than to others.

Technically, you’re right Letran. Obama really has nothing to do with us and we already have a president and a bunch of politicians might constitutes our headaches. They better pull together and strike while the iron is hot if they really want to take advantage of the economic growth. The only things that I am watching out for the US are 2 things – foreign policy and economics. Leave everything else ot the Americans as they the ones which elected him. My concern with foreign policy is still connected to China and The West Phil. sea. Currently, it’s gigantic military ship stuck in our reef. Another thing is the economy. The US is still the largest economy in the world and anything that happens to it will affect us. Especially people who use the dollar for their consumption. Obama , I believe, already ahs has hands full.

The president's inauguration symbolizes the formal start of his leadership of the country for the next four years. Although he was president for the last four years, he must take oath for the next four years. It was somewhat about his plans for the future of the country, but it was more of a celebration to me. It was a day to welcome him and his family back to the White House, to celebrate the voters' choice and to celebrate being American. For me, it was inspirational and happy. I see nothing wrong with that. You have to have moments like these to keep everyone's spirits up. Plus, a lot of people view it as a historical moment. A black president, winning his second term and being sworn into office on Martin Luther King's special day -- another very influential black leader who was for justice for all. This day helped to remind us of the good things that being American represents. I think it was beautiful. As do, obviously, all those who attended. You could see the elation in their faces. What's wrong with celebration and happiness?
