It's a little strange that I never turn off my phone since the first day I had a phone.I'm always afriad that my friends and family may not contact me if my phone is closed.Do you do the same as me? How often do you turn it off?

I hardly ever turn my phone off. I only turn it off when I absolutely have to like when I'm on a flight; other wise it's on.

Usually i don't switch off my cell phone.Because i have to attend many phone calls from time to time. Some are important and some are my friend's call.At night also i don't switch my phone off, because i use my cell phone for alarm for getting up early in the morning.

That's the same for me.I never switch off my phone at night in case of emergency.I often put the phone beside me in sleep. This is bad for my health,I know that.So please set an alarm with a alarm clock instead of your phone.

I have my phone programmed so that it turns on at 7:30am and the alarm goes off at 8am! I usually hear it when it turns on though because I always have a million notifications going! I used to keep my phone on all the time, but then notifications would keep waking me up and I figured if I'm sleeping anyhow why leave it on? So then I started turning it off!

Hah.It seems that you are a very popular person among your friends. No wonder you have to switch it off.The older I grow, the less I make contacts with my friends.I always try to communicate with them indirectly, like emails instead of calls.

I turn my phone off every night before I go to bed. I do this because if I am sleeping then I am not using it so why waste the battery? When I get up I turn it back on and then it makes a lot of noise usually with notifications for emails, facebook, msn, and if I have any missed calls and/or voice mail messages!

I turn my phone off every night before i go to bed. I never get calls after I go to bed anyway, and I figure I don't need to leave it on continuously. I thought I read somewhere, that it is good for the phone to be shut off once in awhile, as it is better for it. I might be wrong about that, but it works better for me if I turn it off. I do have my phone on over 12 hours a day as it is. I turn it back on around 7:00 every morning, and shut it off after 9:00 pm. Take care, and have a great day.

Nice to receive your answer, rosekiss. It seems that you have a good habit in sleeping.Early to bed and early to rise is really difficult for me.I usually go to sleep at about 11pm.During the sleeping time I will set it in silent mode.

I just used to turn off my phone only when I see the battery is too low. find that waiting your phone till the power is empty is bad for you mobile. It will surely put your battery as well as your phone in troubles. Most of the time I just used to put my phone on silent when I see notice use of phone is restricted.

I only turn my phone off, when I'm going to an event, because there it would be rude to have my phone open, and people call me in the middle of a theatre play, a movie, a concert or whoever's graduation ceremony. Oh, and in hospitals, sometimes - there are some hospitals where there are signs that you should turn the cell phones down, because they might send out waves that could spoil the working of some machines. But otherwise, I keep it on. Even in school lessons/classes. It's embarrassing if it goes off ringing, of course, but I'd rather I can reach my family if there's an emergency.

In fact,I find it hard for me to turn my phone off even though in a meeting.I will set it in silent mode instead of turning off.Maybe I expect to receive messages or calls. As for hospital,do you believe that I never went to a hospital?

Hardly ever! Sadly enough. I'm always on it out of boredom, and like you mentioned, I'm always worried that work or my family or friends will have an emergency. This barely ever happens, but you never do know.

Hmm, I like to turn off my cell phone sometimes too, because I try not be bothered from other people. Sometimes, I rather silently stay home and watch TV or enjoy mylotting in here. Without any calling or disturbance, I could be do a lot of things and I can get a lot of fresh idea on my own.

Thanks for your reply,kyle2krystel.I have a question here:are you worried that your friends and family members can't contact with you if you turn it off.My mum thought that I was in danger when I set my phone silent in a time.

I rarely turn off my cellphone, coz just like you, I always feel that my family would need to contact me. But there are times that I do turn it off. And those are times when I really do not want to take calls from certain friends coz they quite annoy me. I just let a few days pass before i get in touch again with them.

Hi wwjwcom, I do not usually turn off my phone unless it is time for me to have it recharged. I always check my phone for messages and calls.

Hi, I don't turn on my phone that often, only when I am expecting something, a call or a text message, then I wait. Most of the time, I just turn it off, especially when I'm at home or sleeping at night. Maybe, I have come to the stage where I can survive without it. I used to believe my life was linked to that mobile phone, that I can't seem to live without it on a daily basis. But now, after years of having a mobile phone, I realize life still goes on without it.

I think the only times that I ever turn my cellphone off is when I'm in a plane and were taking off. For most of the time, my phones remain on because I have family and friends living in other countries. I don't want to miss their calls or texts.

Only when I am having problem with it or the internet is not working properly on it. I never turn off my phone just because I do not want to speak to someone, if I do not wish to speak to someone I just ignore their call.

my phone is permanently on because i feel thats the essence of a phone, the only time its off is when its out of charge and that way i put it on after a short while.i hope having it on most of the time does not make the phone go bad or loose battery power.
