I'm taking the day off of cleaning

Yesterday I did double duty on cleaning. Because the inspection we had yesterday was suppose to include checking heating/air conditioner, plumbing, windows for safety and door handles for any repair. But the only thing they did was change the air filters-so annoying. So today the only cleaning I'm doing is the dishes. Other than that I'm not doing any other cleaning. Have you decided before that you aren't going to clean for a day?

@kotia I'm glad to hear that you don't clean the house everyday. I don't live alone either but I'm the one who has to keep up with everything at our house. It would be nice if my husband cleaned or did something,. But oh well that ship has sailed.

Morning Dominique25, Of course I do. Nothing worse than house work. No matter how much you do there always seems to be more. After yesterday it sounds like you deserve a break. Enjoy your day off. Hope you find something fun to do instead.

Yeah I agree. House work is a pain. I often get frustrated with that fact- that no matter how much we get done it seems like ten minutes later there is something to do. I know though that I'm going to have to set more rules about picking up after ourselves in our home. My daughter does a better job of it than my husband does . I mean I don't clean because it's something I love to do, i clean because it has to be done so I think I should get a little help.

I have also to clean my house and my room. Maybe this weekend i do that. Your discussion reminded me of that cleaning process.

I hope that cleaning doesn't take up too much of your time. I know that when we get really picky about cleaning and want things to be spotless it takes up a lot of time. I'm trying to be better about this because there will always be something else to clean the next day.

Sometimes, I would wish there was a fairy that I can call whenever I need a hand in cleaning the house and other chores. But, of course, there isn't. So instead of making me suffer by cleaning the house, I would just take that time and relax. I feel I am getting older each day just by doing the same old things over and over and over....

Yes I completely agree with you. It would be nice to have someone who could clean and straighten up the house for us. I would love that. It would make life so much easier. I know what you mean about getting older. I feel that way often.

Yes, I try to do most of my cleaning on my days off so I am not so exhausted. I am going to clean the animal cages tonight and the litters.

Yeah having to work and then clean is a pain. It's good that you get your cleaning done on your days off. I'm sure that you have a lot to clean with your animals as well. Taking care of home and animals is a lot of work.

Then you should schedule a day off for cleaning. I know that often times I feel like that is all I do. I clean at home all the time and then I clean for work so it can seem overwhelming. We do need to take a day off every now and then. It will make us feel better.

Hey Dominique, do you clean entire house everyday? That is so much tiring. I mean i do clean my house everyday, but i won't go swobbing or sweeping my floor everyday i clean my dishes, the kitchen station and stuffs which are necessary to give touch everyday. It is so tiring to be working online and also cook and clean the entire house, sometimes i wish i never had to do the cleaning part. I hate it.

Yes I TRY to clean the entire house everyday. If I keep to my schedule of 20 mins downstairs and then the same amount upstairs then it's not so bad. I just set a timer and move as quick as possible. Also my daughter helps a little with throwing things away and feeding our cat. Yeah I understand what you mean. It is very hard to balance all of that. I'm in a similar boat as well.

Some days I have absolutely done that! Lol. The other day I did so much cleaning I wanted to scream by the time I was done. Lol, so the next day was more of a relaxing day for me...with no cleaning involved. I know today I definitely have a lot of cleaning to do. My house has gotten a little messy again and it's driving me crazy! Between the dogs and the kids it is hard keeping it all clean! Ugh.

Yeah I understand what you mean. I'm the only one who cleans. My husband doesn't even take out the trash. And so cleaning can get a little overwhelming at times. But I do have to take a day off every now and then. But like you said it isn't for long because it only takes ten minutes of eating, and family members not picking up after themselves and the house starts to look messy. My daughter though does a better job at picking up after herself than her dad. I'm happy about that .

I clean up everyday but not the general cleaning. Just swiping the floor, wiping some furnitures and appliances and other stuff that needs to wipe the dust off. Last year before christmas,I got crazy how granny cleaned up the walls, she's making bubbles all over the walls!! It's hard to clean up with her using her old ways

Yeah some people are very through in their cleaning. I try to do a quick clean 20 mins upstairs and twenty minutes downstairs. One done in the morning and the other done in the afternoon when preparing supper. It helps me keep up with things but I have to remember not to go overboard because there will still be cleaning that has to be done the next day. So I have to be balanced.

I always have to clean the kitchen because I just can't stand it when my kitchen gets messy. I can relax better when my kitchen is clean and tidy. Sometimes, you just need to leave the house behind and go on a picnic or just go out to dinner. Just relax and realize that the cleaning can wait a day or two. There is more to life than cleaning. But I need to get off of Mylot and get my dishes done. It's driving me crazy when my dishes are not done. So, it is almost time for me to do something more than just Mylot. :)

Yeah I feel better when the house is clean and tidy. Friends are often times stopping by so I like to keep the house in order. I completely agree about going out to dinner. Those times are great because I don't have to worry about getting the food ready or cleaning up afterwards. I often times have to remind myself that there is more to life than cleaning. Sometimes I feel like that is all I do because there is always something else that needs taken care of.
