It's been weeks since I've done laundry. I think I have too much of everything if I can go that long. Now I have 2 loads going and will do another one or two depending on how I feel. This is one thing that I hate doing and I hate folding and putting everything away. So I have half an hour for them to finish and thought I would come here to do some discussions and responding. Sometimes I will sit and watch tv depending what is on. What do you do to keep busy while your laundry is going?

I so hate laundry too! Lol. I don't have a problem doing it, it's the folding and putting away that I cannot stand, just like you. Lol. I always have the energy when I first start and I think I will get so much of it done and then by the time the load is done in the dryer I always think, why did I start this chore? But I usually pass the time waiting by coming here.

lol...Now that I have 2 loads in the dryer I don't feel like doing the one or two loads I have left. Maybe I'll save them for tomorrow. "Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow"....and old saying of my Dads!

Sometimes I have to run to the store while my laundry is going but I have to make it fast to get back before someone else needs a washing machine. That's the downside of sharing a laundry room with about 100 people.

We have maids here who can do the laundry. I am only washing my own underwears but other than that I am not the one who is washing my own clothes or doing the laundry.

That's a good option, taking your laptop along and opening mylot. You might earn some cents to help you pay the laundry. Hi hi hi...

I don't have a laptop but if I did I would take it to the laundry room with me and wait for my clothes to be done.

Years ago when I had babies I had to wash their diapers by hand. They didn't have disposables back then and it was a horrible job.

I throw them in and go about my business. I dislike doing laundry also. In fact I try to advoid it like you did only I don't have that many clothes. So I do it twice a week just to keep up.

I find it amazing that so many people hate doing laundry. I just finished and actually for the first time in forever I put everything away. Usually I let it sit until I'm good and ready!

Since our washer/dryer is in our rental, I always have other stuff that I am doing while the laundry is running. Depending on the time of day and household needs, I might be online, mopping floors, preparing a meal... I do laundry several times a week. Since we have a washer/dryer all-in-one machine, I can't risk having a build-up of laundry. It simply takes too long to get it done. I've found ways of shortening the time a bit (such as doing speed wash with hot/cold and normal-high soil level rather than running it on one of the other cycles), but it still takes longer than normal washers and dryers do. It's not something that I would seek out, but, rather, it is something that is part of the rental.

I'm thinking you have the apt size washer and dryer that are on top of each other. They are small so you would have to keep up with your laundry.

Good grief! Where did you store all that dirty laundry? Not just clothed, underwear...but also bed sheets! It sounds like you have mountains of laundry. I have one hamper bag. When it gets full in 3 or 4 days I do laundry. I do two loads every 3 to 4 days because I change clothes daily. If I did like you, I would have laundry hoarded all in the bathroom so much I wouldn't be able to walk in there!

I keep my laundry baskets in a very big closet that I have. I usually do sheets and towels first and then my clothes because I have more clothes than any one person should have...lol...

Weeks since you did your laundry? I assume you have no family, no children? Nobody is ever sick, sweating, has her period in your Household? No animals making things dirty and yes you indeed must have a lot of everything. But still I wonder if all the laundry you are saving is not getting smelly or has malt in it. I do my laundry once or (prefer not) twice a week. Once is about 7-8 kilo of laundry. Laundry that is wet (swimming stuff of towels for example) I dry in the open air. I put on the washing machine (takes about 2 hours) and in between I do other housekeeping, reading, the dog, shoppings, teaching my children etc. No need to sit next to it and watch the machine doing the work. So I go on with my normal life.

No, I live alone so don't have to worry about that other stuff. I keep things like air wick and febreeze in my closet where I keep all my laundry. For some reason the laundry doesn't get moldy or smelly.

I do our laundry every other day because i only wash the underwear and some of our house clothes. My husband preferred to send all his dirty clothes, towels and bed sheets in the laundry shop downstairs so that we have enough time to bond. But before when I am doing all the laundry I used to listened music where I can sing while doing the laundry.

I wish I could afford to send my laundry out! It's very expensive here. I do have a very large comforter that I think I might be sending out.

I tend to procrastinate as well, especially on laundry or cleaning up. I will make a to do list, then try to get a few items done on it when I have time. Usually I work all day, then come home and not wanting to do anything.

doing laundry is sometimes very boring but when i'm in bad mood, i will do this as in my mind cleaning will help me to clean all the unhappy memory for me, for many times this way is useful to make me fresh again and i can restart my other issues. While the laundry is going , i will sing some songs that i like to keep myself enjoy the little things in life as this is always unable to avoid to do, so why not be happy to finish this.
