hi janurmas, if your computer is a bit slow its better to use Windows XP than to use other OS like Windows 7/8. i suggest you do a defragmentation you know how to do it? (startall programsaccessoriessystem toolsdisk defragmenter) it helps your computer by cleaning your left dll. or piece of a file and rearranging your files so that you can use it comfortably. next download Ccleaner. it can completely clean your browsing history, memory dums, fixing errors , run & unrun startup files, fully un-install unusing application and many features. i hope it helps you inform me if you need more suggestion.

Perhaps you need to upgrade to Windows 7 or 8. They work faster than XP. I used to have XP for my computer. It was at first quite fast than the ME that I had but after sometime, it slows down. Then when my computer crashed, I decided to install 7 and my computer loads very fast now.

You can try to disable some start up applications. Start up apps are apps that automatically starts at back end of windows when you start up your pc. Too many start up apps (like Yahoo messenger, skype, etc.)can cause a pc to start up slower than usual since it eats up a lot of memory during process.

It always helps when asking questions about a computer to provide the specs -- RAM, processor speed, HD, etc. It makes it easier to pinpoint the problem.
