Just called the police

Well, I went out to walk the dogs and heard metallic banging noises behind our shop. I sent my husband out with the other dog and he saw two people steeling metal from our property and the adjacent property. They had dogs with them and ours saw theirs. You'd think that would have been enough to send them on their way. No, I had to call the police. They are back there now talking to the man and woman. The house next to us is vacant, up for sell. So no one should be on the property, especially in the back. And if they are steeling there, they'd probably be here stealing from us next. We have a small auto repair business so that means we have scrap metal now and again. I'll pop back on when all is said and done.

Good thing that they aren't armed...or are they? And good thing they also didn't attack your husband. I hope they never come back or retaliate for calling the police on them. Keep safe!

Well, they weren't punished, but they have been identified and warned about being on the property again. The girl my husband recognized as living a few blocks behind our shop. And, the police are certain that eventually the will be caught inside a house or building. They claimed they didn't know they were on private property. The woman has been caught elsewhere getting into trouble. Not for stealing scrap. Caught in the back seat with a customer. I wasn't overly concerned about my husband because all they saw was him out walking the dog. And, they would have had to deal with me. We are armed, but when backed into a corner I don't need a weapon. People whom know me, know that. Anyhow, I will be paying even more attention when going out to walk the dogs.
