Which was your best Christmas ever?

Christmas for me has always meant one thing - family reunions. Over the years, I have come to dread Christmas and I can say it is the worst day of the year for me! However, last year (2012) we decided to break the family traditions (with a lot of guilt) by taking a holiday in a coastal resort during Christmas. By we, I mean my husband, 3 kids and I. You can't believe how we spent Christmas! Just swimming, sunbathing and enjoying the ocean breeze. My husband and I did not even eat lunch (we were not hungry) but the kids of course spent the day eating and drinking to their fill. In the evening we took a walk on the beach before dinner. That was my best Christmas ever and I doubt whether I will have the chance to do that again in the near future (smile). Simple, stress free, happy and memorable.

I want my Christmas more on spiritual and with meaning wherein on christmas eve before eating I want a solemn prayer to recite to thank God for His goodness and the birthday of Jesus. Then the giving of gifts and bonding with family. Thanks for this discussion.
