I'm On My Way To New York City, And I'm Going To Stay At The Waldorf-Astoria!!!

Anyone ever stayed at the Waldorf? I have an opportunity to meet up with some friends of mine who are traveling into NYC from CT in order to se Anderson Cooper's Daytime talk show live. I want to see it before it goes off the air, as this will be its last season. On top of that, I have ALWAYS wanted to go to NYC. I decided that since I am going anyway, I am going to save up my money, and stay at the best hotel in town, and as far as I'm concerned, that would be the Waldorf-Astoria.
It looks like I will be there from Feb 18-20. I'm just waiting for confirmation from the show, so I can book my tickets, then get my room reserve, and then finally book a flight. I've got a nice little chunk of change saved up (Waldorf a'int cheap, y'know!), and I plan on earing travel miles for the flight and the stay, to put towards future travel. YAY! I'm so excited!!!
Anyone ever stayed at the Waldorf-Astoria before? How did you like it?

No, I've never been to NYC. I've driven past it many times, but I've never actually ventured into any portion of the city itself. My boyfriend would like to take me there, though.
I'm not really a New York kind of girl, though. I'm not fond of crowds, and I prefer driving myself to depending on public transit to get around a place. So, I've managed to avoid getting dragged to NYC thus far...

I don't have a drivers licence because my vision is crap, so I have to rely in taxis. Public transportation maybe, but with my vision I want to go where I want to go when I want to go there, and not have to figure out transit schedules, etc. It's different in my hometown since i live here and know the buses. When I'm in NYC I'll just be taking taxis everywhere.

No, I haven't stayed there. I haven't even been to NYC. And it's been decades since I last stayed in any kind of hotel... wah! poor me!

Thanks for stopping by. Hubby and I travel around Canada a lot and stayed in Atleast 6 different hotels last year.
