I was quite busy with the town fiesta that I didn’t hear much about the latest brawl in Senate. It is the continuation of the Christmas bonus given over the said season. Now it escalated to personal insults, resigning of a chief of staff and too much history. Although, I am quite glad that things like this come to surface to take a peek into the inside transaction between the members of the august chamber of the Senate. Granted that they are not quite respectable as of this moment, I guess it is quite a learning experience since one party is a re-elections and the other one’s son is running for the first time as a Senator.
I don’t know who’s really telling the truth but I think too much controversy is centering on the Senate Prez. It may hurt the chances of his son given that the said son is relying on the family name. Anyway, this will be a good reminder when I go to the polling booth.

Well I guess you are right it was all about the money distribution of the savings the senate had in their budget. I think it got personal already since the senate president has even brought up the money owed by the late senator Cayetano back then to the Enriles. But to sum everything up everything boils to one thing. The way the money was distributed to each senator. This is the first time that someone had complained about it and even challenged that it should be audited by an independent auditor to see if the money was justly distributed or not.
But the thing is law states that only COA has the sole responsibility to audit senate funds. According to them the senate president has the sole discretion as to how they can dispense the savings they have on the senate. This was the practice of them ever since and I think this has been going on for quite sometime even beyond Sen. Enrile's term.

Well, I guess that every senate president had the discretion but I tihnk ti is still his responsibility to make sure that everyone gets a fair share. All of them are senators anyway.I guess this is good because although it is a common practice,it's best that it is fair to everybody. Some traditions are better to be improved.

perhaps, they don't. But it is sum sort of discrimination. If you want to have more money, you better have the connections to get it.
