I find it very difficult sometimes to write $50 or $25 etc Or INR. 1000. It is so funny. We never say i earn Dollar 50, but we say i earned 50 dollars today. Or 500 rupees today. But we write the symbols before the amount. How many such funny facts you know? which confuses you but are actually used world wide? Share them if you want, enjoy this discussion if you like it, but don't comment or respond sarcastic comments here please.

I still get confused when writing dates in numbers. I grew up writing the months first before the day. And I keep getting it wrong as I moved across the other side of the world.

You don't have to worry about writing the month first unless you are in the States.

Oh, yes you're right it sometimes comes confusing that one must be familiar to that which is now a universal standard.

HI! I think the trend of writing Rs. 50 of $ 50 would be prevalent in maths or mathematical terms. However, when we are talking in general about spending or price of a product, we say I've spent 50 Rupees today. Yours is an interesting question, but like you I also needed to be enlightened on the exact reasons of such usages.
