I apply aloe vera gel. I have these plants in my house and the gel truly helps relieve pain. You can use cloves or clove oil.

Clove oil is available at any chemist. And as for the aloe vera plant any nursery will have it. You just need to cut open the leaf and remove the gel and apply it.Here is a link on aloe vera and dental care: http://www.aloe1.com/aloe-vera/23-aloe-vera-dental-health

try pain relievers medicine, I once experienced toothache before drink Tramadol (that's a heavy pain reliever) or Cerebrex (I don't know if I spell it right) and eat ice cream

Tramadol and Celebrex are too much for a tooth ache. They are mostly used for very intense muscle pain. We usually prescribe mefenamic acid taken every 6 hours until the pain is gone and then we advice out patients to come back to the clinic to check on the severity of the cavity to be filled.

@inopiratum_a_medio12 Are Tramadol and Cerebrex OTC(over the counter) medications that I can buy from a local pharmacist or must they be prescribed to me by a doctor? @jenny1015 I have never heard of those, but with the pain I suffer from time to time, I am almost willing to try anything once. Mefenamic acid, is that also OTC or has to be prescribed? There is no filling the cavity I had.. as it is no longer a cavity.. The only part of this tooth that remains is the buccal surface and that is also in pieces. Thanks for sharing your input!!

Hi, I hope you have found some help. Not long ago I read about somebody who took a piece of Aloe Vera Cactus and rubbed the gel around the bad tooth. At least there should be no harm doing it and it may kill some bacteria. Worth a try, but better get the tooth removed as soon as possible.

Clove oil is the most recommended natural thing for a toothache. However, if you are having to wait some time my concern would be possible infection setting in. I keep grapefruit seed extract, in capsule form, on hand because my husband is bad about getting abcesses. Do not purchase the liquid form unless you mix it with something like orange juice. My husband didn't listen and used the liquid form straight and gagged for some time. It's very thick and really nasty. However, either form will help kick out any infection. Something else you might use for the pain is regular chloroseptic throat spray. Hey, it works and it doesn't taste near as bad. Thing is, be it orajel, chloroseptic or clove oil, you will have to keep applying it as it only provides temporary relief. Good luck.

You may gargle using warm water with salt. That would somehow alleviate the pain. But I don't think that it would last long enough if you have very deep cavity in your teeth. Much better to take mefenamic acid instead.

Thanks for the advice. I tried warmth in the past and it was one of the worst things I could possibly do. The warm compresses enhance bloodflow to that particular area making it more painful. Sometimes cold helps.. but it is only a temporary fix as it constricts bloodflow to the area in pain and works to numb that area with its extreme temperature. Thanks, though for sharing!!
