My laptop is already 10 months old and I use it every day. Right now I notice that some how my laptop is slowing down. I don't know if I need to format my laptop and reinstall my OS again. A friend of mine told me that its bad to reformat the hardware often so I'm just wondering how often is good to reformat laptop?

I just used to re-install the OS only when I find any error or something problem with it. Recently within two months I had formatted and installed new OS and I don't think my PC doesn't need to do that again for a year.

I guess my laptop is due to be reformat. I just see lots of bugs especially since I can't defrag my laptop anymore and that's a clear sign that my laptop has a bug. Problem is that I don't know how to reinstall especially that I don't have any CD installer.

I seldom will format my operating system for my laptop. Since it is troublesome for me to reinstall it again and then install other softwares to make it work as usual. This will spend some time. And sometimes I am even afraid to lose the drive of some hardware.

I guess I will just going to keep it running even if my laptop slow down. Unless its really running so slow that I have no choice but to reinstall every thing. I hope I can make good income in forex trading so that I can buy new laptop.

I hardly reinstall my OS unless I see a definite problem. It has also been about 10 months for me and my laptop does move a little bit slower but this is nothing to make me reinstall my OS. I feel the next time I might need to reinstall my OS is next year or ven the year after. There are times I might just split my hard drive and dual boot my laptop just for the fun of it. Like 3 months ago I dual boot my laptop with windows 7 and windows 8 because I really wanted to experience windows 8. I have deleted windows 8 now though, to me it just feels like an OS for a touch screen laptop. Not for something like my laptop.

I don't know what wrong with my laptop. Its working just fine but I know theirs a lot of bugs already especially when I'm encountering with some problems. like freezing and so on. But that's does not happen often its only happen like once a week. And I'm sure sooner or later its going to get worse.

I think, Once a year? or sometimes I didn't cos I love my files, and I dont want to loose them in on snap of my finger haha, my files are important, and I dont want them to junk, I preserve my laptop security, and anything so that my laptop will now receive any errors

Theirs an external hardware that you can use if you want to save your files. That's what I do I do back up so that even if my laptop crush I still have some back up files. I usually do that ever week. But in term of formatting. This march my laptop will be one year old and I'm planning to reformat my laptop.

i think its not bad to reformat your computer once a year. the bad thing is maybe the reason why your computer running a bit slow is because it have a virus running on your system. try to back up your files then format it. some virus cant remove by antivirus,

I have a license antivirus and it does not detect anything. I think my laptop problem is not virus but more on something like bug problem. Since I'm using my laptop every day I'm sure my laptop has experience some bug problem when I install an uninstall and so on. Constant updating of files also result to some bugs.

Formatting your local drives doesn't effect laptop much. It can be done every 6 months or even earlier doesn't matter. But formatting is a hassle which is why i suggest try look into why your pc is slowing down. Normal things you can do to speed up is defrag, remove junk files, increase your RAM, update drivers and OS or virus malwares, adwares etc
