Back on the 4rth I cancelled my subscription with a dial up internet service. We had finally gotten away from dial up service a little while back. I didn't cancel right away as things got hectic and it wasn't at the top of my list of important things. Migraines and my father in law were at the top of the list. Anyhow, I had used them for years. Never had any real issues. Except for the slowness I was okay with them. I just checked my online bank statement to balance my checkbook and discovered they took the monthly payment out. So, I called them. I told them I had cancelled my subscription and had my reference number handy. They informed me that I owed them because I had called a few days past the due date. Hmmmm, they didn't inform me I was going to have any more payments taken out when I canceled. And the fact is, if they were going to do so they should have prorated it. It doesn't matter that the entire monthly bill was barely over $20 a month. What matters is they should have informed me there would still be a payment owed. I wouldn't even be so agitated with them if they had prorated it, as long as they had told me. As explained to me just now, if I had canceled on the 1rst they would not have done so. So, I have to pay full price for 3 days I couldn't get with them. I was a little busy trying to get over a death in the family. Is anybody forthcoming and honest any more? Simply because it's something online, not the power company, phone company, etc., they can do what they want. Even the bill companies for our utilities prorate. I think that's fair and square. I just don't feel this is right.

Reminds me of Sprint when we got my daughter a new phone two years ago. The sales guy didn't tell my ex that she needed an upgraded data plan, and by the time I saw the bill, it was $80 something in data charges. He changed the plan for me, but only gave me an $18 credit.

That is just insane. When purchasing a phone they have always asked me about data plans, so much for texts, so much for downloads, etc. I've never used Sprint, but we have looked at it before. We've looked into all of them and always end up sticking with AT&T. Had I had another month before resubscribing this time I could have saved quite a bit. I purchased a magazine after and it mentioned there are free apps for texts, that don't cost you for texting, as well as a few other things you could get for free so you wouldn't have to pay for those extras. You could have the basic plan and get all the perks. I assure you, when the contract ends this time I will be looking into that!

This time, when I upgraded her phone, they told me she needed to upgrade her data plan both when I bought the phone and when I activated it. But two years ago, NOT...

Oh, I know the game. Took me 6 months to get the phone company to get things right with our added services. Partially because the first person I spoke with had no clue and was fired and we had to start from scratch. Then them selling me something I couldn't use. It was insane! Oh, and we can't offer you that service because it isn't available in your area. Ooops, the other service is having issues so we can offer yout the service you wanted. Just tell the truth and have someone there whom knows what they are doing. Wouldn't that be awesome!

These are cyber mafia activities. As we are entering more and more to modern era, there are people, who want to extract from us, as they are brilliant in providing excuses related to electronic transactions. But finally you can find that all these mischiefs are man made only. After all we have one beautiful word ever n that is "SORRY". Some people thinks sorry stands for no punishment.

It is a great word but truly only means anything if there is sincerity behind the word. Sincerity goes a long way. It's sad that it's most modern definition is bend over without a kiss or vaseline. That is the most polite way I have of saying that. Don't want any trouble with My Lot. I do like how you phrased that "cyber mafia activities".
