this online acquaintance wants to borrow money

Though he had given me opportunity to earn something online, but I just can't lend him money. It's like what I have earned with his help he would just get it back. Although it's just small amount but I don't have much money so I can't be generous. Anyway i lend him $3 already which he had paid back after two months. He wanted $15 this time. Even if I have money I won't lend him anymore.

I think it's bad enough to lend money to a friend or family member. The biggest feuds in life always start with money it seems. It's definitely a bad idea to lend money to someone you don't even know! If you give him the money that's your choice, but dont give it and expect to ever get it back.

I agree with MakingCents. It is not a good idea to lend money to someone you only know online. I am afraid that someday he will not give it back to you. I experienced that I lend money to the person I just met on our neighborhood. The first time I lend her money, she returned it right away as she promised. But later on when she moved to another town, she went to my house and borrowed money from me again with triple of the amount that I lend her the last time, and let her borrowed it. So, until now I haven't got it back and it's been 3 years already.

I would never engage myself on giving some money online regardless if it’s a person I knew or a firm that needs paying to join their program.
Not that I am afraid to gamble, it’s just that I don’t want that they won’t pay me back because it is indeed quite hard to earn money regardless if it’s online or not, so better yet just help them find their own ways and means to earn through online programs rather than giving them money to start with.

It is not being selfish if you would rather not lend him money. It is being safe from scammers and abusers. It's hard to trust anybody online nowadays. And money is difficult to earn. It is alright if you won't lend him. He should know better.

If you don't feel to lend him money then don't. It's your instinct that warns you the possible situations could happen. He may paid you back after months but he might also ask for bigger amount next time and won't be able to pay. So I think the earlier to stop this the better.

Even he had helped you to earn money online but that doesn't mean you keep on lending money to him. He returned $3 after two months, I wonder how long he will take to return $15. So I will say don't lend him any money from now on.
Its very strange that this person helps others to earn online but he himself had no money.
