I think I am rather good, at least average. I would rate myself 6.5/10. What about you? How good are you at playing pool?

I don't play much pool. I'd love to, but it costs. And I don't have much tine either. I play sometimes on my pc, but I guess that doesn't count.

Yes it can be a rather pricey hobby, unless you invest in your own table. How much is it where you live? In my local club it is £4 an hour for a table.

Pool Player - Cartoon and pool player standing on pool table ready for his next shot.
I used to be fairly good and enjoyed it....Was one of my after hours pastimes in Saigon because we had a curfew. However, I lost money playing 9 ball for quarters. It was a lot of fun and a good way to pass the time. Would love to play snooker sometimes. I watch the champship games on Eurosport. They are Awesomeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Snooker Table - A full sized snooker table.
I haven't lost any money playing pool, but I have won some:P I played my friend for £5 and I beat him, I knew I was gonna beat him because I'm way better than him, but he has beaten me before so he thought he was in with a chance. Snooker. Trust me this game is wayyyyy harder than pool. The table is almost double the size (12 x 6) compared to a 7 foot pool table. And the pockets are smaller. I found this game so hard. In fact, I got bored playing it because I hardly put any balls in. If you play snooker in a smaller sized table, then it is easier though.

What a nice response. Thank you so much. Yes, I am aware that snooker is harder and more complicated. However, since I already know how to play 8 ball and 9 ball I feel that snooker would be a nice challenge if I had the opportunity. I also forgot to mention that I love to see the "Trick" Championships. The are beyond description and believe. How I envy them.....Have a nice day!

Well it is unfair to judge yourself if you have only been playing for a month. But you are right, it is important that you enjoy it.

How do you play on your PC? Do you have a PC pool game or do you play online?

I rate myself a 8 out of 10. I even have my own Cue.

Thats really good. I too have my own cue, but I do not use it because the tip is too small for me. I feel as if it is going to break. How big is your tip?

i used to be really good, making shots i didn't think were possible, but i haven't played in a long time, and practice is something that goes hand in hand with pool, if you stop playing, you forget, right now i'll give myself a 5/10 but i used to be atleast a 7.5 before.

Its true, if you don;t practice, your skills will deteriate. For me though, if I haven't played for a while, I just need a few shots to get back into the flow of things. But these days, I get to play quite often so it is alright.

Yes you should. As the old saying goes 'practice makes perfect'. Not only will you be getting better at pool and having a good time, you will also increase your knowledge og angles and physics.

Wow, that is really cool. What were the tournaments like? Were they local, regional, or even national? Did you get a prize, maybe some money perhaps? Whatever you got, you should do more tournaments. It sounds like you are a good player. I am yet to test myself in tournament conditions, perhaps I will give it a try in the summer when I have some free time.

I am not good at it at all!!!! I love playing though:) I think I hit at a wrong spot so that ball goes to the next table or fly like a weapon...lol
@flex90 (1441)

Lol, I have seen many people in pool clubs, making the balls fly off the table but they have a good laugh about it, which is good. You do not have to be good at it, as long as you are having a good time, that is all that matters.

I love playing pool too. It is great fun, even more fun when you aren't very good because you can have some good laughs along the way, don't you think so? It is also very sociable.

Yes I used to spend quite a lot on playing pool beofre aswell. But lucky for me, my friend bought a pool table recently and now I can play as much as I want, all for free! He gets so embarassed getiing beaten on his own table!

I think i am average on pool, but sometimes i can still beat some guys..lol... I would rate myself 7, I had once got 9 balls in a row.. But i think you need a lot of luck in playing pool, I like snooker more because it requires more technique than pool.

Oh man, I am terrible at pool! My friends always want me to play but I am so bad I won't play in public. If one of my friends has a pool table in their house I consider it. I am so bad it's embarassing. I guess if I practiced more it wouldn't be so bad. I hate to lose though so instead just stay away from the game.
