If you got the chance to work or study in a different country would decide to visit other countries whilst being there? I studied for 4 months in the Netherlands when I was my my mid twenties. There was a half term so I went off on a trip by train to Luxembourg. Also I had some weekend adventures in Germany with my friends. I found living for those months in Mainland Europe it was very easy to get to other European countries. What do think you would do working or studying overseas? Would you use weekends to explore other places? Which countries would you be keen to work in or study in? Why?

Well,i was born in middle east and spend rest of my life in India.Had 2 years in US in between.Well, i used to visit the places within the countries i lived.I was more keen to understand the different things rather explore things within the country before making to others.I do find many a times, there are many things we are not aware of the country we are in.In fact,we are not even aware of big and small things which happen in locality at times. While working abroad, my focus would not be just work alone. There could be lot of learning from culture, history point of view. There are many things to understand.Well,i worked in both India and US.Would love to try Europe for sometime. But then thats all destiny.I would definitely use the weekends to explore different places, landmarks and areas of interest.I do not have any particular country in interest, though hearing from others would like to check out Denmark and Switzerland.I could think of holidaying in those countries may be in an year's time or so.Good to hear your experience.I am sure you enjoyed it well back then. Thanks!

I had a unique opportunity to work on an assignment in the Netherlands a few years ago. On the weekends I was able to see the surrounding cities and countries. I was able to visit Amsterdam several times, Brussels, Bruges, Masstricht etc. I was also able to take whirlwind tours of London and Paris on a few weekends via trains. I would love to do it again.

Well the countries I'd choose would be close to home and English speaking, I have never been to Ireland, so that would be an option to work in. I have never worked or studied in another country, so it would be weird. It sure sounds fun the way you describe it, and it would be adventurous being able to see a bit of the country when you weren't working!

I never worked or went to school in another country, but at one of the colleges I attended we had an exchange student from Iran (her political views would just knock me out), one from England, and two from Kenya (they were awesome). By the way, I love that you say whilst. I feel like Americans never use that word and it's just wrong.

Hi maximax, Having a job abroad and studying in the same time is what I want to do in Singapore which is in my priority list once I finish my Masters Degree. I would like to experience more in my life. Learn other cultures and make friends not just with my fellow Filipinos but also of other nationalities.I know that studying abroad can broaden my horizon and helps me to grow more professionally. If I have extra money, I would like to visit other countries too.

Yes I would definitely take the opportunity to visit other places! When I was in UK as a student I was trying to visit as many places as possible within the country! I didn't have much time to travel abroad but I would iff I had the time and money! I love travelling and it is wonderful to be able to see different counties and way of living. I miss those times!

If the price was right, and everything was set up for me, it would be interesting to go to another country for work. I would Love to live in another country for a short while just to experience another culture and way of living. It would be interesting to see just how others live, and the differences from here. I find even when traveling around the US it is different from where I live, so am sure another country would be an experience within itself for sure.

It is my deep wish to go and study and work in some other country. I love travelling a lot, meeting new people, learning their culture, language, knowing places, i want to see the world that god made with so much pain. I don't want to die where i am born just by not exploring or learning. I believe in the saying " A man who never travels, is like he has just read the cover page of a book" If i ever get this awesome chance i am ready to go. If i don't even get a chance i am going to struggle hard now and at least go see the world for once a while.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well it would be an awesome opportunity to study or work abroad as it will help in enhancing the experience level and also would give a fair deal of exposure. But when it comes to my case, i would prefer studying or working at my place as i would like to stay nearer to my family and take care of their needs. What say?
