Are there any film buffs here? How do you feel about film vs. digital? I am very curious about this. I actually can see the way that film makers feel, with their romance of film. However, I am a huge fan of digital. Film makers like the Wachowski's, James Cameron, George Lucas, just to name a few, have done wonders with digital. What are your feelings with this? Digital or film?

I'm not really sure if there's a difference in either of these mediums but my daughter who works part-time at a cinema told me that there was one time when they used a digital version of a movie that is stored in a USB drive and the drive was faulty, they had to refund everybody and they don't know how to repair the problem. With film, it's easier to know what's the problem is and it is easily repaired. But then films require much care in the storage.

Hello UmiNoor, I saw you from the last post, good to talk to you again. You are very correct, film has to be stored in a temperature controlled environment and in canisters. I know what you say is the truth, I am in media, and the usb drives today, really hold much. I can put one of my own digital projects onto one, if the usb as enough gigs. But having grown up with one of the very last drive ins in the country, and walking to the concession stand, seeing the projectionist in his room high up, in a way, it is very sad to see that memory go. I understand how melancholy people get over film and digital. My dad's editing equipment always fascinated me. Today, you just go to cnet and download a program, Premier, After Effects, Sony Vegas, and poof, you are done. Been a pleasure chatting with you, have a great day :)
