Which would you prefer, travel together with your family or friends?

Travelling is fun, but being with family.. you can't do what you wanna do, like drinking, smoking, doing private stuffs, tickling with love ones and sharing thoughts. Well, as for me, I'd prefer being with friends if I have to travel wonderful places. Why? its because I have some issues with my family right now. Not my siblings but my relatives. My cousins, Aunts, Uncles, In-laws... I hate being with them. How I wish me and my siblings can go wonderful places without them. what say? :)

I prefer both but it depends on the activities and things that I want to do and the place where I want to go. I like being on the go and trying out extreme adventures and activities. If I do this, I would like to do it with my friends because they share the same interest with me. This way, no one complains because everyone agrees to do the activities. My friends can keep up with my travel attitude too. I like doing road trips so every time we go to places, I always make sure to be able to commute to experience a different lifestyle rather than renting a private vehicle. However, when you talk about going somewhere just to relax and unwind, I like to spend it with my family. This is the best time for me to bond with them. We have all the time in the world to talk and catch up. Drinking and smoking will not be an issue because some of my family members do it. I don't smoke though and I'm just an occasional drinker but I don't mind people doing these stuff.

Very well said june. Having friends with the same interest is fun, you can share your thoughts about it. you don't have to worry thinking about topics.

Yes. What I like about traveling with friends is you can be very comfortable with them. They can take good care of themselves so you don't have to constantly ask them if they are okay. You don't have to act as a host. Nothing to worry about. Just making the best out of the moment. Happy myLotting! :)

I have travel with family and didn't really like it. It becomes a tug of war between the couples. They want to do that and we want to do this. Never traveled with friends and I never will. Friends are not good traveling companions. I prefer my husband and me alone. Even when you go on a cruise, they want to shove you into a situation where you are sitting and eating its other couples. When we asked to be seated alone the waiter said "You don't want to meet other people?", we politely said no. My husband is all I need and visa versa.

Being with friends with different interest really disturbing. If my friends were like that? I'd prefer going out with my family then. It's more relaxing and it can also strengthen the bonds.

good day to you xuy2xfreak88, with regard to your post, well, there are times, i do prefer to go with my friends for some reason, i can't go on for a drinking session if i am with my family. though i also loved to be with them since it is a different kind of happiness if i am with my family. for me, i can go to both of them and the level of happiness is different in each group.

Good day to you too aira... I think all people would agree to your post. Different level of happiness is indeed true. As for me, I can be myself when I'm with my friends than being with my family.

Of course I would want to travel with my family, if ever. Unfortunately, I hate travelling. I do not like taking the boat or plane. It's just me.
10 Feb 13
You don't have to ride a boat or plane. You just ride a car or a bus. You can go to the next state or something. Just being far away from home can consider as travelling right? Enjoy yourself my friend.

I agree that your meaning of fun would be limited within your family's watch. How about traveling with just immediate family? Your parents and your siblings only. I guess it would be preferable to travel with family when you want to relax and enjoy the scenes but if you wanna have parties fun then choose the right destination for you and your friends.

Relaxing is a great choice when being with family.

before marriage, trips with friends and after marriage or love, with family. It will make the journey more secured and colorful.

Right.. this is why we have to be in a relationship first before marriage not just getting to know each other but to enjoy yourself being not married.

I have found it is much easier to travel with relatives because you know each other and your likes and dislikes. I do a lot of travel with relatives and multi generational travel. One trip we had four generations in our van and it was a delightful time for all and we became closer as a result.

I adore traveling and would say it is my top hobby. In my younger days I traveled on my own mostly. I did some trips with my mom to St Lucia and the Canary Islands. I went to Belgium and the USA with my sister. I traveled with some of my friends in Germany and the Netherlands. These days I travel with my 5 year old son that is disabled and my 3 year old daughter. It is so pricey to travel now but it was lovely when one of my kids was under 2 years old due to the 10 percent airfares. It is a shame that you have an issue with some of your relatives. Maybe you can travel with your friends or alone. Happy traveling.

I have children, so it would be with them.If I never had children, then I would say that I would rather go on holiday with friends as you can have a laugh more with friends I think and you feel so much more relaxed and do not feel like you have to do all what the parents want.

Yeah, its like parents sometimes can be annoying. But, we can't blame them. They are just like that because they love us. They want to be a good parent. :)

You are absolutely right. Travelling is fun. But I beg to differ in whom to travel with. I prefer to travel with my family to other countries. Even to local places in the country I still prefer to go together with my family. I like it this way because I am a family man.

I'm sorry to hear about you having issues with some of your relatives, I hope you get it fixed. Anyway, I am never close with my relatives, but I have travelled together with my siblings a few times already. I am glad my bf is not here in out country so I could really have fun with my family. My parents also are not travel people so we could really be ourselves when we travel. It's not that we drink, smoke or do crazy stuff, but it's just fun being with my siblings. I have traveled with friends as well and it's a great experience. My friend and my siblings already have scheduled a travel this coming July and my bf hopefully will be coming to join us. This will be the first time so, we'll see if the difference between being only with family or friends or together is better.

Well, for me it's both. I love to travel with my family as well as with my friends. Even with my relatives, I still enjoyed it. Well, maybe, as you have said, I have no issues with my family and so if that's the case then everybody happy. Travelling with loved ones and friends is a very enjoyable activity in our life. I always experience it.

Well,it definitely be based on the objective of travelling and other factors. There are are times you are restricted to travel only with family especially if it has religious things to it.Travelling with friends and family could be fun.I agree that there is certain restrictions when we travel with family and it cannot be all fun with them. And in case of friends, you can cross some of the boundaries and have fun.If the objective of the travel is not strict or religious, i guess it is fun to be with friends. You will be enjoying the trip. There will be more fun activities and things like that. With family, there is a restriction with everything. Its good in a way as the discipline in family will be well maintained.Personally i have enjoyed travelling with friends and family.I have also traveled with both together as well.Just get the people you like and plan the trip.I agree that its tough with some people. That has always been the case with many people.Find the people you enjoy most and plan the time with them and have fun.Well, good to hear your thoughts and view on same. Thanks!

I think traveling with friends is more enjoyable, because we can do any fun things with our friends together. I have been traveled to some great places, whether with my family or friends. But, traveling with friends is more free to do anything.

First I don't have much opportunity to travel due to lack of financial ability and somewhat health. But should I travel it would depend on where and why. Some places I would want family, grandchildren and children like to Disney land or world or even Hawaii. Other times just my husband and some friends our age. Depends what we want to do. I love being with my family most the time and especially the children but there are times I would like to go dancing and have a drink with older people. So it depends on what the trip would involve and why and where we were going.

Travelling with your friends are more fun, in actuality. But then when you travel with your family (parents) usually it is fun too so long as they are paying for the expenses! haha I have had my travels with friends, and though i love the company, sometimes i do not get to enjoy everyt activity because i would lack funds. :P

I prefer traveling with my family. Traveling with friends is definitely fun but I would miss my son every second of the day without him. Since I'm a mom now fun time is not drinking, bar hopping or crazy late nights anymore it is more on shopping at the grocery store, going to the zoo, eating out or just staying at home. I just see my friends at the office or sometimes we go out for a lunch or a dinner but no more sleeping over.

There are some points in my life in which I prefer to be with my friends rather than my family when I can travel and there are some points too where I prefer to be with my family rather than with my friends. I live in a nuclear family so if I will have an opportunity to travel, I will just be with my parents and sisters. As of now, my brother and sister are already married. So, given a chance to travel, I will be with my dad, mom and my sister. I don't have to worries about doing something because I don't have things that I hide with my family. I do not smoke and I don't have a boyfriend. Well, I guess that even I have a boyfriend, it won't be a problem with my family. Traveling with friends too is fun. I would love to experience it someday.

Hi there! I assume that you are young, as young as a teenager I guess. I said that because you prefer to travel with your friends, which I think is normal for teenagers or people your age, how young you are. When I was young, I'd love to be with my friends all the time too, I find it more enjoyable than with my family, don't get me wrong I don't hate my family or have anything against them or my relatives either, I guess that's just the norm. But now times have changed. I am married now and in my thirties and have been dying to travel with my family. Lately I have planned on saving up a vacation for me and my parents, and some family members for a vacation in our province in Catanduanes (Philippines. I was only fifteen the last time I saw the place. I really want to go back and get to know more about my roots. I want to see how my folks lived there or what kind of life they used to have. That place has so many beautiful beaches around, because that island is facing the Pacific Ocean. I wish I could save up more so that vacation that I have been dreaming will finally happen.

Travelling is really fun for me whether I'm with family or friends.. but travelling with friends makes us more comfortable because we can do whatever we want to do.. it is pure fun.. hence when travelling with family is kinda a little boring because the things that you can do is limited.. but overall travelling is bonding so whoever you are with just have fun..
